Throwing Up a Brick

The team's key player
with his quick move badly missed
shot in basketball.

Comprehensive Love

Her love for her handsome prince was comprehensible,
She loved his tall and muscular stature.

Learning to comprehend God's plan for them both,
To admire him each day, he didn't know how much she loved him.

The day they met and he shook her hand and introduced himself,
They became friends, they would hug now and then and even kissed once.

Did she hear wedding bells, they were only friends,
Like Prince Harry and Megan the beautiful royal wedding.

She continued to believe in miracles, what had God planned for them,
His friendship is treasured she thought, weekends when he was away.

She would miss him and look forward to when he came back,
He was the key player in her day, with excellence.

Longing to hug him again and stay there forever,
They were just friends, will that ever lead to dating.

He didn't choose to date, she had to reconcile herself with that,
Maybe he was getting over a difficult divorce, he was single again.

God sends us a prince, so you won't be lonely,
A handsome companion forever she thought.

You have to believe in miracles, day by day,
She believed in God and his plan, evolving slowly.

Unwise To Flex Macho Muscles

I save my love in the cave
Where she roams free
Shoving aside the pride of the stave
Whose tentacles disagree

With the quality and quantity of care
Love demands in return for expanding horizons
In which she’s the key player whose flair
Dominates and dictates the zones

In which she receives affection in return
For the affection she bestows on me
To pour tons of affection into the urn
Where I’m forever indebted to see

Vast amounts of affection that nourish
Several critical aspects
Of emotional nutrients which burnish
The love I save from suspects

Too keen to take to flight
At the earliest demand love makes to protect her sanctity
In the face of the slight and plight
She lands sometimes when the care quantity

She gains proves too little
To justify sacrifices love makes to comfort
Me despite the brittle
Vase I inadvertently crush in the fort

Where love hides the heart so often misunderstood
In contexts so complex
Brave love feels it’s high time she vacated the neighbourhood
Where partners find reasons their macho muscles to flex.

Uneven Path

It was a summer night.
A windswept moonbeam
plummeted. Sexualizing

an indigo flesh. A butcher
was seducing
a spider, in company of

a holy book. Sunbathing in
mass grave of skulls. The eyes
peeking out of the caps.

You want to pluck the blue
berries from
volcano mounts. The key player

will burn your script. Body
of milk died on snow. The
moth was coming out of cocoon.

The Line

You and your brothers
Return from yet another failed attempted of an attack.
This is the final down and they have stopped you
 At every play
But now it is up to you and your brothers to get that final yard.
You line up yet again to a seeming giant.
 But you are not afraid.
You know if you fail you let yourself down
 As well as the team.
You hear the frantic voice of the quarterback call
 “Down set Hut!”
You furiously get out of your stance and attack this unwelcome giant
Keeping him at bay long enough for the play to be executed flawlessly.
The ball is thrown perfectly to our key player
 A first down is called.
You look back at your brothers
 And they smile back.
No one else knows the small victory that had just been won.
No one expect the brothers of the line.
