Poem To Nefertari

Behold Queen of Priestesses
I bow my head in your sanctuary
Of cool stone, circling your obelisk
Receiving roses and papyrus
to cover my breasts
of aching love and thorns
Glyphs pierce my skin

I thank you for God’s grapes
put before me and the many
Jewels for my altar to the Sun
Your emeralds dissolve in the
Rivers of Africa
turning to sparkling trout
For San to catch

Your tears fill our dams to the brim
as the One speaks into your eyes
I listen with heart strings pull tight
A cool breeze sways my
Spine clear of all want

As Pyramid moves to Moon
then descends again
Our robes touch planets
To bring you messages
for your rule and
Cloth for Kem
Ever upward we move
to the indefatigable
Light

Appreciation For My Beautiful Tour Guide

she takes me other places
she shows me other things
she opens my mind to other options and possibilities
i make her pepperoni spaghetti, a taco salad, and italian bread to thank her
she smiles and give me an appreciation kiss
i make butterscotch pudding with a whipped cream for dessert
with minnie riperton, kem, and michael franks playing in the background, we just chill and genuinely enjoy each other's company
i look forward to tomorrow morning
of course she is excited to show me something and somewhere else
she makes me look beyond the sand, the ocean, the rolling hills, and the mountains
i am glad to have a (hopefully) lifetime ticket to the uniquely interesting world of her mind
it is new and we are taking things slowly, but hey, the ride is EveryThing

Premium MemberRenmenm Kounye a Oswa Jame

Renmenm kounye a pandan ke
Mwen ka renmen ou an retou
Renmenm kounye a kant, a volonte
Mwen ka limen epi etenn dife an
Renmenm kounye a pandan, ankò
Mwen ka respire fasil kom yon chantè
Renmenm kounye a pandan ke
Mwen ka wè bote ou byen klè
Pa tann demen oswa yon lòt jou
Lè mwen pa ka wè lakansyèl yo ankò
Lèm pa ka mache pou kont mwen sou twotwa a
Ak lè mwen pa ka santi bon freshè le maten
Pa jis renmenm 'nan Jou Sen Valenten
Renmenm tou mèm lè kem vinn devye
Renmenm kounye a oswa jamè
Pou mwen ka beni ak chans san fen
Kèlkeswa eta mwen ak atitid mwen
Kontinye rete dosil e trete ak jantiyès
Nanm mwen, kè mwen
Ak kò mwen, anvan kem di orevwa.

P.S. Tradiksyon 'Love Me Now Or Never'.

Secluded High Rise

secluded high rise
picnic with a view
rare day off for both of us
enjoying each others company because of each other
no conversation
your head on my shoulder
air conditioner at a respectable level
no thermostat drama tonight
a kem cd playing
imagination standstill
the back seat is full
our minds are completely empty
tomorrow we explore
tonight we just enjoy this moment of stillness
secluded high rise
dancing slowly now to the rhythm of our heartbeats

Bigger

Life is short
But this time
It was bigger
They all tried so hard
To forget her
The rumors spread
That she was dead
She didn't blame them
They didn't know
It hurt the teacher
Hearing what they all said
The maddness
They could not stop
Nor the rumors
She lived her life
The way she thought
God had sought

Cancer.

it was painful
No kem
No radiation
Abuse.
She was rasied with it
Abuse only mad the
Cancer hurt worse
The halls
The looks
The pain
It crowded her thoughts
As a senior she was
Determined to graduate
Still going to school
She refused to not go
A week before graduation
It happened suddenly
Walking in those halls
Getting those looks
The pain worsened
She got paranoid
Down she went
Laying there in pain
Watched the world
Around her fade to black.
