O, how near, yet how far
Stands your last portion
Of love, my Dove
I have waited, a patient
The last instalment
Of your love is slow
O, You killed me
With instalments of love
And I died for your style
The charm of your tongue
The smell of your heart
The pinch of your eye
They finished me
O, then the promise
Which peeped and popped
Your lip to mine it said
For ever and ever Amen
I want it, now, my dove
The last instalment
Of your love!
O, how near, yet how far
Stands your last portion
Of love, my Dove
I have waited, a patient
The last instalment
Of your love is slow

Charles Dickend mimiced people of his day
by instalments he had his say
He satorised manners of his time
helping poets(like me) to poesy rimes

Relative of mine believes in enjoying life
Her husband earns well
But they spend all in shopping, dining and sightseeing
Lavish house well decorated
Designer clothes, car, all luxurious amenities
Their credit card is always overdrawn
Most purchases made on instalments
Few days back, her husband's right fingers became numb
Neurologist said it can be cured easily.
Operation would cost two lakh
Now she is sitting in her house clutching at straws

Honour packets and pockets of promises
Without any iota of excuses
If progress should become the portion
Blessed in action and implementation.
Honour realms and reams of reputation
With vigour and rigour
Applied to forestall a misrepresentation
Sneaking into any endeavor to reap favour.
Honour spoken and written words
Uttered and muttered in good faith
Without rattling swords and surds
Slipping through to take away strength and depth.
Honour inventories and instalments of integrity
In plans and in thoughts
Preaching serenity and intrepidity
In quotes and in votes of all sorts.

Love affairs, wars, depression, gastronomy, obsession,
weight loss, job loss, don't give a toss, Bill Goss,
arguments, instalments, increments, incidents,
discension, derision, indecision, my pension.
Bad looking, dodgy cooking, let's make a booking,
sloppy dresser, second - guesser, more is lesser,
flash car, Chandrika, you're a star, take me to the bar,
holidays, getaways, hideaways, lazy days, Vin de Pays.
They found him in a bunker, then he was shot,
an ignominious ending, more likely than not;
remember when he waved a rifle from the balcony,
the fake euphoria just committed to history.
There was no 'mother,' only burnt - out trucks on
the road to Basra - now nothing would ever matter.

I was qualified in middle eastern history,
which was a waste at the chemist it seemed to me,
however, I saw an advert to become a spy,
Instead of media, thought that I would give it a try.
I had a light brown colour, useful for blending scenery,
knowledge of languages should make me fit in perfectly;
they asked me tricky-dicky questions - was I C - of - E,
I said that I was whatever they wanted me to be.
Soon, I was monitoring 'traffic,' to and fro from Syria,
Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, Tunisia, Luton and Algeria;
Forget the romance - no time to look at my ornaments,
even missing tv - 'Holby City' and 'Eastenders' instalments.
One day I woke up and thought that I was dead,
moments later, I felt a cold steel at the back of my head.
