A Rhythmic Rant

What lay’s buried in my memory
Is my memory sometimes lies
Bloody Mary quite contrary
The canary quickly dies

Now the monkey’s in the middle
You know some monkeys don’t mean jack
Only if you meddle with a monkey
With a monkey on your back

You’re all set on settling changes
And the hope that change can bring
But if that change don’t change the outcome
Then that change won’t change a thing

If the proof is in the pudding
Then I’m the pudding in the proof
When your output starts inputting
Is when your heart pumps out the truth

Premium MemberGiving Him the Bird

I see your bright colored plumes and your cocky arrogant beak
you think you got a trumpet in my ear but oh ,you wait and see
how beautiful the end result will be, once you CLAMP

It is no ones business but my own what I write and re-write in
the name of perfection. Cat got your tongue? Well finally we
got some peace round here, I'm entering IT

Are you expecting those old parrot tapes to enter my heaven?
I'm busy inputting so I I can't hear your hell
so fly away from me bird from Alcatraz cuz I'm not this, OR

That,
I will not listen anymore. REMOVE
that silly grin off your plucky face and give me room to be
the best that I can be. I'm unreeling, re-dealing, getting
ready for the authentic manuscript of the Century. So bird on
you.... Get over YOURSELF
You don't own monopoly to my mind nor my imagination
get going bird, I got it covered so pluck those poisoned feathers
off my back and let me grow wings, that won't harm or attack

leave me in peace to write .

Eternity

Here we are all trapped in single file
stuck in line at the grocery aisle
behind a lady in tattered nylons
perpetually searching for coupons.

Now she is causing us even more stress
arguing the price should be ten cents less
though that amount should be no cause of grief
she treats the cashier like some kind of thief.

Hopes of finding other lines are broken
as no other registers are open
my temperament begins to roil
as my groceries begin to spoil.

At last she gives up and gets out her purse
but then the problem becomes even worse
bypassing her cash to get out a card
inputting her pin code seems much too hard.

Just before we move to angry action
she finally completes her transaction
but then our new hopes are once again snagged
when she nags about how her food is bagged.

Her departure now ends our ordeal
the next guy puts his food through with zeal.
Oh, come on now, what the heck!
he is paying with a cheque!

Face To Face

Face to face they sit...
brain to brain;
two-eyed flesh machine,
one-eyed blue
laptop screen,
interacting...
systems inputting,
outputting,
precious data.
Face to face they sit,
a complex team
driven to perform
with error-free
precision in a
controlled mini-world
ruled by the god
of technology.
Face to face they sit...
worlds apart,
stark and cold
plastic eye flashing
programmed data;
warm and sensitive
flesh eyes flashing
non-programmable
blue twinkles.

Premium MemberMore Than Machines

Face to face they stand
Brain to brain
Two-eyed flesh machine
And one-eyed plastic terminal
Interacting systems
Inputting, outputting, precious data.

Face to face they sit
A complex team
Driven to perform
With error-free precision
In a controlled mini-world
Ruled by instant communication.

Face to face they lie
Worlds apart
Stark, cold plastic eye
Flashing programmed data;
Warm, sentimental flesh eyes
Flashing non-programmable twinkles.

Face to face they act
Separate and alone-
Ruled by the giant, apathetic-
God of Technology.
