It Cannot Be Helped

All you've heard is true.

It cannot be helped,
  hard as we try
the eons of time move right along, unchallenged
 much like the Pilgrim's Progress
 the words of the prophets
or the biblical words of Christ
indicting us, calling our names
to open our eyes and see
to open our ears and listen not just hear,
to think and contemplate all the possibilities,
the end game that will play out.

Will you ask the right questions
what is it that you seek
 what do you truly believe
where will this take you in the end
what price will you have to pay?

Your turn is coming
 there is no escape.
You may do as you will
 right or wrong
 something will happen,
there will be a catalyst and an action
how will you handle it
will you ignore it or go with it
will you speak up or be silent
will you condemn or justify your actions
  who will you answer to?

Where, when, how
will you stand among the crowds
when the decision must be made
 while the path remains unclear
but now,
 your chance
 your time
has come.

BY THE SEA-
By the sea, by the sea
I’ve never lived by the sea
Though I’ve visited the west coast
In an airplane I’ve seen up close
The sea
That day my soul grew offshore
My heart rate and eyes didn’t ignore
The waves of the water curl
The ocean mist swirl
When I think of the sea
The morning dew drew
This sea of dealt and distance
Landing on the landing
On that day my soul grew offshore
Only this and a state
I discovered the seafarers
The sub ocean sailing siting
Still is citing, still is citing
Of the land's that is indicting
The semisubmersible seashore sailing
By the sea, by the sea
I’ve never lived by the sea
Though I’ve visited the west coast
In an airplane I’ve seen up close
The sea

Coming like a violent storm,
Most unaware of crippling foe,
Ominous charge is taking form,
Indicting nation’s moral woes.

Many have become rogue and wild,
Blind to subtle social changes,
Dull to enemy’s evil wiles,
Naïve to immoral binges.

Stressed out by our culture’s ills,
Misguided by bureaucrat’s vow,
Duped by sharp marketing skills,
Depending on NASDAQ or the Dow.

Day has dawned to draw the line,
With full trust and integrity,
Work as one for right in our time,
To end hatred and bigotry.

Waft a message and not refrain,
In midst of a silver lining,
Judgment is framed by hope’s change,
Repentance brings Land’s refining.

Paranoia Spiderfinger

PARANOIA Spiderfinger

clean scrubbed room
the type you can
swipe a finger across
all sullen surfaces
no matter how
obscure
and find it free
of dust and
cobwebs….and more

paint weaves the same
surreal sensations
white color shades…

purewhite
snowhite
cleanwhite

 the ashen white
faces adding
 subliminal
messages of
fading to grey

“time to meet the girls”

first the smell
then heat until…
 ceiling lifts
revealing

tortured
tarantula
pointing
indicting

Spiderfinger
