Inconsequence

Lies and the truth
both fade into memory
Time caring not
whether credence or farce

Married together
they drift into silence
Passing forgotten
—through legend and curse

Loud and Clear

You told me all I need to know
Without a single sound
I'm obsolete, I'm useless
Not worth to be around
Like a biting, flying insect
You wish I wasn't here
Point noted and well taken
I hear you loud and clear
Your silence is an action
So nice it is to know
How valueless I am to you
It's time for me to go
Not one more drop of energy
Will I give you anymore
Won't be your sad inconsequence
Of that you can be sure
So enjoy that vapid world of yours
In your selfish hemisphere
Not a whisper will you hear from me
Hope I made that loud and clear

Small

A pebble on the walkway
A smooth soft grain of sand
A microscopic insect
A freckle on your hand
Sometimes I want to shrink myself
Crawl in a little ball
Become my own inconsequence
I feel so very small
I'm mired with emotions
I feel so hard so deep
Anguished in the agony
And the secrets that I keep
My thoughts they run they race
They haunt my gentle mind
I long for peace. Serenity.
A calm I'm yet to find.
Maybe if I'm quiet.
Tuck myself away.
Or crouch into the corner.
All day and night I'll stay.
Maybe if I close my eyes
And I don't think at all.
These demons will not find me.
And make me feel so small.

To Few I Am a Person

To few, I am a person of worth and worship
To you, I am a person of disregard and deficit

To few, I am a person of morals and motive
To you, I am a person of amusement and agitation

To few, I am a person of trust and tenderness
To you, I am a person of inconsequence and insignificance

To few, I am a person of fragility and fondness
To me, you are the person of essentiality and emphasis

A Bag of Inconsequence

A Bag of Inconsequence

I remember tiny things picking up a burnt match
from a floor wondering who threw it there.

A May day in St. Malo, I saw an old man crying
streaks of tears down rumpled chin.

Shy bluebells lost amongst tall trees, yet they
made me think of prayer wheels in Tibet.

Glow of coal in the grate, it was early morning
and the road outside was frosty white.

A summer night up north I was waiting for night
it never came...and then it was morning.

In dead rabbits eyes I saw the warm August sky,
I, happy to alive, yet saddened.

When the Pacific Ocean was a mirror of eternity
And time ceased, yet lingered like a kiss.

Waving flags, military band and bloody parades,
I have long forgotten why and where.

Love's Conception

At night when we lay content
at the conclusion of our day,
wearied from labor
but glad in our endeavors,

I will inevitably say,
   something of inconsequence,
   while our barrier’s down
   to feel your laughter,

slide inside my soul
   and curl in my womb.
Our re-enactment of
   Loves conception.

   The sound of your laughter
echoes in my mind
long days after
our moment of joy repast,

like the trill of a bell
   beneath a fairy mound,
   who rings in the wonder
   an infant’s first cry rebounds.

Sky Rage

The awaited bedimmed evening
Was foretold by the clouds rolling in,
We pelted along the herded streets
Fending the storm that was coming.
One perceived the aftermath peace
I queried the realism that was bracing,
One assured the isolated inconsequence
None retrieved the agone serenity.

The sky grew heavily with agglomerating clouds
Blusters of flames sparkled along with rapid fury,
In pain and fear, so many hands extended for a prayer
Fending the storm that was outraging.
Around them amassed the shadow of malefic wind
They turned up their white pale face,
In this hovering ambience breaking the solitude
They bade for the pacific dominance.

The courtesy was heard by their divine faiths
Pouring down the tears with biding pains
The consequence was allayed by the aftermath peace
And the sweetness aired to ease their breaths.
I wondered the realism that was uniting
Laughing, playing and dancing by the bygone bedimmed evening
That was foretold by the clouds disappearing
I still queried the peace after the storm,
why not before it?

Neglect

Muffled cry of inconsequence
My heart feels alone again
Cuff off, neglected
Why are you so far from caring?
Sucked into my soul of despair
So full of the slime of self loathing
Always incredulous of love
It’s so much easier to believe it was never there.

Timidity

Wrapped in a cloak of inconsequence
I hid my raw, bleeding visage from
Your insubstantial glance

Five Seconds

The tiny box of three
Quiet in inconsequence
Cowers to bored night
Theory picket fence

Two fly ice
Chosen expertise and calm
Distress the daily grind
Confused in sweated palm

The faithful forty-nine
Hope and safety fed
Now speak unwitting blank
In bitter contact red

The suffering alive
Peak through bewildered eye
Barred to understand
Such loss in seconds Five
