A dog’s day
It’s not that I’m lonely I like the beauty of the landscape
without having anyone to interrupt my thoughts, telling
me how nice it is.
My dog sees my mini-Savannah as enemy territory
barks and birds take flight leave her in the car with
open the window and try to take a few pictures.
We are going out for lunch, my wife and me, food
is not as great as nature, golden grain and green vines
it is about forks and knives looking decorous talking
about nothing and chewing in silence
The door to the yards is ajar so the dog can go into
the living room when we are out.
She pretends to be distraught it is an act, she knows
I will bring her leftovers; when we return, she great us
theatrically, I know she has slept on the sofa, drinking
water in the loo and barking at noises outside.
I saw a man who is
insane
whose wife divorced
him
his only son
abandoned him
living a life in a fast
lane
I saw a lady whose
husband
loved that much that
he forgot
his scruples because
of what passed
through his gut
frankly dying with a
wedding band
I saw a girl paralyzed
by a disease
sitting while giggling
as she sentries other
kids
acting the role of
queens and kings
hoping for a miracle
while dying at ease.
I saw a girl today.
Who took my breath away.
She was walking down the street.
When. By chance, our eyes did meet.
She saw me riveted to the spot.
Admiring and looking with all I got.
She returned the look with a smile.
Without guile.
Not a word was said.
My tongue was dead.
Such beauty I have never seen.
She was like a dream.
I met her walking down the street.
I said "Good evening" nice to meet.
She answered with a smile.
That made me tremble for a while.
"Hello" so I kissed her hand.
I loved her, from that moment on.
We could not do wrong.
