Wounded by its lack
Distrustful of it
Inured to its absence
In thrall to its allure
Fooled by its simulacrum
Estranged from it
Paralysed by fear of losing it
Inexorably exposed to it
Resolved against it
Consumed by longing for it
A scholar to its foreign texts
A slave to its compulsions
Compelled to search for it
Forever
Hopeful

I was made
To venture undulating time
And chase the tides forever facing forward
Through glinting waves by unknown shores
I migrate
The oceans’ warm currents for
Thousands of miles yearly, continuing
Always onward, always embraced by water
I am
The mighty blue marlin mirroring a sight
Of the blue heavens above, divinely
I was created to breathe and to glide
As this ocean life’s own,
Yet by His magnificent, pure Holy design,
I am
Powerful, challenging, defying death often
I leap
Above the rolling waves into radiant light
As water gleaming streams off my sides
Over the scars of hooks still there by fishers’ tries
I am a blue marlin
Born and destined to survive for decades
In sparkling waves observed by my sparkling eyes,
Loving the eternal swim through His created
Waters that brought our planet to life.

Will the sky topple inward
or the hills heap upwards
it I do not make these symbols
upon a snow-white field?
Will a poet turn to stone
before my eyes
or will a jackdaw caw
pointlessly into a gale?
And now the thin thread
thickens
becomes a full gutted snake
laying across a dusty road
or is it a rope
knotted and curling
as obtuse as any
imponderable script?

i have business here
not in your world but mine
your hat is hanging on a different hook
when the wind blows
both hats fly in different sky-scapes
if you dream of this
i dream of that
see you later
when the wind settles down
on a planet
neither of us belong to

SKYHOOKS
They pulled me up when
I was mired in a quagmire
of rules and regulations,
and helped me parry
the thrust of a bayonet
in the heat of a battle
we never could win.
They showed me the path
to everlasting love
when no one believed
it could ever endure.
They guided my heart
on how to grow old
as nothing but a pile of dust.
Skyhooks can’t be seen
or touched, but they’re there
as sure as the nose on your face.

S-hooks upon the lake,
Swimming swans gracing water
With their presence in June.
A stage of
Graceful performers
In a ballet.

I wrote this song as a sort of self-therapy. I've only just started up writing again, so I'd really really love criticism, in as much detail as possible if you have it or feel like giving it. Only one rule: please be polite and keep your criticisms within reason.
(Verse 1)
We pay for brand new faces,
Cause they don't like our own
They say that it's not good enough,
So buy a better one
We're dressing up our pain,
In silks and five star shoes
Treat things as if they're people
Now people just get used
(Chorus)
The shiny things that draw our hearts are vultures in disguise,
Circling 'round our heads until it's time to strike
Without a sound, come shooting down, like bullets in the night
And we're to numb and drunk off pleasure,
To look up at the sky
(Verse 2)
We party with our shades on,
The world is bleeding rose
Careful not to take them off though,
You're saner with them on
(Chorus repeats)
(Bridge)
Instrumental
(Chorus repeats final time)

Standing along side souls,
You sit here where no one
ever sits.
Trembling dead roses
lost there beauty,
as women sing songs of being alone,
for all of love
is unfinished.
when it was quiet
you knew it was over.

It has been DECADES!
And yet, for some ridiculous reason, we
still choose to TIE our shoes and
BUTTON our trousers, ZIP our
blouses.
How ridiculous.
When Man first invented the wheel, do
you suppose that there were some naysayers who said;
"I'm still going to drag my loads through the dirt on a rope. It was
good enough for my father and by gawd it's good enough for me!"
I doubt it.
So. (BUTTONS FLYS LACES)
Why do we stoop to such Medieval methods of
attatchment Today?
Who knows. But I eagerly await the day that Velcro finally
gets the credit it rightfully deserves.

the boys were lazy
except when they wanted something
like your car
or food
or sex
oh yes sex
was a good motivater
for attention and detention
good thing I had a good appetite and could
match them one for one
boys were lazy
but trolling
if a girl could do all the work
that would be fine
that would be perfect
sure I'll be your boyfriend
when can we have sex
We knew the boys
with the experience, they were confident
they knew how to get it
and oh god
we wanted to be gotton
we would have stood in line
but they never knew it
we were just as curious as they were
so bating the hook was foreplay for sure
just like anything else in life
that gets you what you want
