The daughter of a professional seamstress, I am a tactile learner,
I have to feel the possible fabric to make a decision.
If it is rough like linen or denim, I am not a fan.
I like flowing soft, pliable easy materials
Unless I am trying to sew them together
Slick and elusive, velvet, satin and silk fabrics are difficult to maneuver.
And you have to make sure all of the cuts are made in the same direction.
Shiny pieces with beading or rhinestones intrigue and interest me,
But I rarely wear them as they are stiff, hot and uncomfortable.
Plaids are a nightmare to piece together; worse than matching wallpaper.
My twin sister buys fat quarters and makes beautiful quilts.
Her luxury hobby is sewing, she spends hundreds of dollars on it.
I run from a sewing machine in every direction.
Homemaking was a chore, I wanted to take woodworking.
In highschool, my mother used to rip out most of my seams at night,
so I had to start over in the morning.
Mom wanted everything made out of fabric to be perfect.
She was a professional, but this discouraged me.
When I need to create I cartoon, paint or write. I do not sew.

pews of velcro Sunday flats

Photography
I used to have a dark room.
Trigonometry.
No reference, the word causes anxiety though.
Anthropology
I used to live for this subject, imagining myself in Egypt on a dig.
Art.
I dabble, four hundred paintings later, I have no idea what I am doing.
English.
Worst 7th grade teacher ever, but I like it in spite of that ridiculous time.
PreAlgebra
No memory of this whatsoever, and glad of it.
Homemaking.
The only parts I liked were the sewing and the eating after the cooking.
Reading.
I can sit in a treehouse all day long, devouring a stack of books happily while
Choking down my favorite sandwich – peanut butter, Miracle Whip and lettuce.
Poetry.
Love the cadence of it. Never have understood it. Apparently I do not have to.

The women of Georgia are like a peach
Beautiful in all ways~ emotional,
mental, spiritual, and each will teach
skills to young women~devotionals
Peaches are versatile, fresh fruit to eat
Chopped added to milk and cream for ice cream
Pared, sliced, cooked in cobblers and pies~ a treat
Made into jam for biscuits; toast, a dream
Women of Georgia pass along their gifts
Whether homemaking or politics teach
Each one has something to share that will lift
our daughters to levels higher to reach
Women of Georgia dig deep in your well
Lift our daughters to ride the highest swell

We've become the walking dead
A 21st century epidemic
Absorbing what society said
Like zombies we mimic
We have apps on our phones
They do the living for us
An existence complete with drones
YouTube is our chorus
Wives have become consumed
With fantasy homemaking
Shrinking their creative room
It's laid out for their taking
Dad doesn't have to play catch
The wii includes instructions
Dogs aren't playing fetch
Another detail worth neglecting
Flowers are still blooming
Just like the olden days
But there is no time for swooning
We see ten shades of grey
Every hue is equally bland
Nothing to spark one's Fire
Technology will only expand
Causing imagination's retire

The laundry, the cleaning.
The cooking,the sewing.
All the homemaking skills.
But SO MUCH MORE.
Love EMANATING from her heart.
The speical touch.
It goes a long,long ways.
She makes all pain go aways.
Has that speical quality.
The lords delight in her.
For she obeys him.
Knowing that Word deeply.
Cling to it daily,Helping her nature.
Gods future generation.
Proverbs 31
Describes that "perfect women"
She totally fulfilled.
Her childern rise upnand call her blessed.
