Leave to Live

When home becomes a ring
And rivalry serves as supper
With the winner becoming lord
By a blow below the belt
Leave to live

When the bed becomes a field
Hosting rival players
And a goal is instant defeat
When respect is flushed down the toilet
And love is on life support
Leave to live

When 'Good Morning' is a burden
And going home becomes an aversion
And eating together seems like chewing dust
When the home becomes a kiln in the winter
When the sound of rainfall brings tears
The appearance of the rainbow foments frozen fears
Leave to live

When the pillow becomes drenched daily
And work a welcome remedy
When the eyes are open yet not seeing
And neighbors sit out expecting a spectacle
When the days are long, the nights empty
And sleeping becomes a nightmare
When prayers cease and help a distant dot
Leave to live.

Turn the Fire Into Water

When there is no peace, justice or equality
Turn the fire into water and defend yourself
Your right, your home, leave that alone
Turn the fire into water and defend yourself
Living and striving, free from false pretense
Flowing, not running. Defend yourself.
Turn the fire into water
Open your eyes and hearts to what’s there
It’s all a process, left in your care
Turn the fire into water and defend yourself
Devour and not replenish is a fools dread
Turn the fire into water instead.

Premium Member New Morning

Is there something in this morning
I can give you my love
The warmth of the sunshine warms my heart
Seems it knows that it's you I am thinking of
And from you I can never part

She said no! there is nothing
You can give me in this morn
I am sleepy as I awake from my night
As a gift of a new day for me is born
And your gentleness of love, has me worn

My army commander came to say
I must send you too a desert storm
Where now I await death
Maybe come in the morn
Once more a gift, of a new day born

I wrote my love
I am safe and well
And soon leave this behind me
Find my home leave all this hell
And in your arms you will find me

She wrote to me please my love
As this breaks me apart
For my heart now thinks of
A man had come and stole my heart
And I am saddened we must part

I said its ok you are feeling this pain
For I know your heart has been lonely
You may never had seen me again
An empty heart I cannot blame
The choice you made was you’re only

I will keep you forever deep in my heart
And remember a touch as gentle as a feather
I learned in the moments of my worst fears
And as my death be near
What I had in my heart held me together
