Heavy Going Poems | Examples

Premium Member The forest can be a safe place

The forest is a dark place.
Heavy going under the trees face
Faces of anguish and shear fear
The dog on top and being clear.

Not hiding away behind those branches
Live life, don't take any chances
The dog will come back and bite
If you let him in, which you might

Make the branches sway in the wind
Then the dog my rescind
This story is about your life
Not the animal causing strife

Make those branches a happy place
This forest truly is a safe space
The beast cannot get into the forest
And if he does turn him to dust

You are the victor of this condition
Your stronger than all the competition
Its your world, Live it how you can
you're an amazing woman or man

I Was In Trieste

I was in Trieste

It was in 1962, a revolution attempt that failed
roads had been churned; the American CIA tried to blend in
not successfully wearing Hawaii shirts to hide the guns.
I met her at the railway station, a small woman with a big suitcase
which I offered to carry at her lodging.
I was a polite young man, thanks to my communist mother.
It was a long road, a cobblestone road, was heavy going
I have come to think Federico Fellini was hiding in the case.
Arriving at her lodging, I was not invited to her room
she gave me a peck on the nose.
Later I learned she was a famous actress, but I wondered
why is she, in Trieste?

Heavy Going

RoseAnn Malone resolved to lose weight.
She made a list of foods to forsake.
She did well 'till week four
eating more than before.
Airlines had to bill her at the freight rate.

Flipping the Wig

The girl had her groove on she
laughed a lot and was hip and
not too heavy going. At seventeen
I needed an old lady to go to the
prom with. Not wanting to wipe
out on my first try I caught the
groove, Taking my time, this chick
was bitchen from top to bottom,
But I had a gnarly set of nerves
because I woke up with a zit on my
nose, what a bummer. I didn't want
her to think I had cooties so I waited.
The time came to ask her. Well, after
all this feeling like a dork, she said
yes she would love to go.
Wow what a gas, I flipped out.
