Hope is not hopeless unless it's gone
Lost is not lost unless it's found
Where is the lightening
And there's no energy fire
I am deaf yet hear the sounds
Hope is not hopeless unless it's gone
Love is not love if you just say it
Hearts will not beat if the spirit vacated
Where is the peace in the minds of men
Humanities haters of liberties
I am blind and I can't see a thing
Hope is not hopeless unless it's gone
Lost is not lost unless it's found
Where is the lightening
And there's no energy fire
Singleness of man
Can only righteously stand
Only if he asks God to intervene
Small and Promises to connect,
all the dots of the heart to interject
Hope is not hopeless unless it's gone
I am deaf yet hear the sounds
I am blind and I can't see a thing
I am thought and can feel not
Trials and tests come and go lingers on
Hope is not hopeless unless it's gone
Hope is not hopeless unless it's gone

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr 2o23
She wasn't one to worry, never saw her cry
Still she was melancholy, never told me why
Now she's gone a wanderin', didn't tell me where
Didn't ask where she'd go,the chance is I've been there
For I have been a loser in a game of hearts
And traveled the byways in unfamiliar parts
The road's a common one, we all fight our dragons
Some of us stand tall and some pull little wagons
She came here from Tulsa, perhaps she's gone back there
Or maybe Albuquerque in the desert air
Maybe she will come back, there is no way to know
Maybe she will stay gone, and down the road I'll go
She wasn't one to worry, never saw her cry
Still she was melancholy, never told me why
Now she's gone a wanderin', didn't tell me where
Perhaps I'll wander for awhile, maybe she'll be there

Since you’ve been gone….
The flowers have lost their color
The sun refuses to give its light
The moon weeps in her sorrow
And days have turned into night
Since you’ve been gone
Since you’ve been gone…
The birds sing a mournful requiem
The wind moans at the windowsill
The sea threatens and billows
The starlight has grown suddenly dim
Since you’ve been gone
Since you’ve been gone…
My world has crumbled down
The people laugh at my pain
My strength has withered away
My tears mix with the rain
Since you’ve been gone
Since you’ve been gone
I’m haunted by the beauty of your smile
I count the endless seconds and days
I moan your name to my bedroom walls
I wander around in an endless maze
Since you’ve been gone
Nothing, no nothing has been the same…
Since you’ve been gone

I know there are some changes that need to be made to this, but I wanted to share this with you as I wrote it when I was about...24ish. I wrote it for my then boyfriend who is now my husband. He is the only man who has ever made love to me. I've known him since we were 12....
You going to slip If you stay in
your corner
Your going to flip back
A dirty right angle
Your voice is gonna crack
Your words are gonna snap
If I have the opportunity
I can create a new identity
My voice only in your memory
You'll never see me again
January, beckons the army
February, joining the infantry
March, with a bride in church
April, young wife looking frail
May, new life well on the way
June, whistling a fatherly tune
July, days passing rapidly by
August, feeling down and lost
September, a marching order
October, consumed by his fear
November, home now a cadaver
December, darkest time of year.
