i wished to plant the seedlings of black tupelo
shumard oak, sugar maple, biloba-ginkgo
for its reddish yellowish beauty on the meadow
For its dance on the air with the wind blow
green all were lured to my eyes
but now on the midcourse of the fly
from its bole by death dry and cleave
autumn birds hovering on the air
trying to catch falling leaves
while children gambol on colorful litter-leaves on the soil
before the wind push it far and make all spoil

Ginkgo Biloba
One a day.
To help make
your brain
not fade away.

To the whispers of the angels wings
heart blossoms to Cupid's rampage.
time comes to crossroads of Autumn
to await in nakedness as a Ginkgo tree.

My husband parked our car beside
A ginkgo in the city.
The street was littered with its leaves,
So yellow and so pretty.
The female ginkgo also sheds
Some nuts with such a smell,
Just step on one and suddenly,
You won’t feel very well.
That night there was both wind and rain
And pods came pelting down.
Our silver Subaru now wore
A coat of yellow-brown.
It looked like Nature chose our car
And gleefully did bomb it;
To top it off, it reeked and smelled
Remarkably like vomit.
The lesson to be learned is this:
When parking near a ginkgo,
Determine if it’s male or else
Your car will be fa-shtinko!*
*a fake Yiddish word – means what it sounds like!

Everyday I take Ginkgo Biloba for my health.
It helps me
to improve my memory
and..um..well I forget, but it's also used for something else.

ginkgo
a mental spur
from a Chinese tree with
fan-shaped leaves that makes tea and thought
girders.
