O’Lord Ganesh
============================
By M.K. Dalei
We stretched our wings
to fly in the ether,
We gathered our faith
to drink ample nectar,
O’Lord Ganesh, you really blessed all
ensuring a crystal bright future…..(1)
You cherished our voyage
to sail all ocean,
You flourished our trek
to climb all mountain,
O’Lord Ganesh, you really blessed all
fixing a life without tension….(2)
A tearless bread
that flowered our heart,
A fearless trade
that blossomed our mart,
O’Lord Ganesh, you really blessed all
showing vivid light in deep dark….(3)

Reincarnation In Northwestern Ontario
Much thought to time is given
In Reincarnation.
To what it would be like
To come back again
In another form.
I thought about survival,
And decided I would like to come back as a snapper
In Northwestern Ontario.
“So, please great Ganesh, Remover of Obstacles,
Don’t let them build a nuclear waste dump there!”

At the bottom of my garden there is a quiet spot,
where I choose to ponder my life, my times, my lot.
Screened from my house by bushes, there is a wooden seat,
some mirrors and some gravel, it's rather small and neat.
In this corner sits a Buddah who smiles at me with love.
And a figure of a Green man hangs from a branch above.
Reflected in the mirror is a Celtic granite cross,
to give me help and comfort when I think of pain and loss.
Ganesh also sits there with his elaphantine face,
and Pan with pipes in marble adds humour life and grace.
These spiritual images dispel all thoughts of strife.
Clear my thoughts of chaos and bring peace into my life.

I like to start my day with a hot cup of coffee
I pound down the coffee
First thing I do every day
as the dawning sun
Lights up my lonesome room
Yeah, but not just a simple cup of java Joe, but a God damn snarling sarcastic smarmy cup of coffee

Ganesh in the Deeply Dark (Dawn)
I sit, sullen
in this hot tub,
grown warm.
Here, I sit,
grown cold,
grown old.
The stars seem dim,
though neatly
arranged.
The dead leaves,
having leached their
green, beseeched their
sun-god, having breeched
their tip-top, up top, paraSol-top,
having reached the high holy Pale Blue,
having pleached in greens, having bleached
those same greens, having (perhaps mayhaps perhaps)
over-
reached,
fall silently around me.
Joining my tears in
filling this bath.
The light, warily
illumines the manuscript
sky.
Confronting my dark.
I can’t read these stars.
I can’t know my Way,
my Fate.
They say that if an elephant
could speak, we’d still
not understand her.
Wittgenstein’s lion.
The elephant isn’t.
The elephant is...
mine.

Little elephant guy Ganesh
Facing out up on my dash
The traffic cars seem to part
And speed me on my way
And as the miles roll away
I notice he has turned
now he's facing me
On this endless highway
As I come up on the backs of trucks
Elephants of the highway road
Under his carved watchful eye
The truth begins to unfold
Behemoths keep their pace
Much too slow for me
No room for the passing
What will this strain avail?
So I let his presence guide me
This figure serves to remind me
And the blockages he removes
Are the ones inside me

Exalted by Vedas,
epitome: Ganesh;
exculpates us of sins.
Evidence of tameness,
Exhausted to our ends;
exploited as transport.
Evinces a paradox!
