god bless your name might this might and mercy bless you
aint got much money
the nights are brisk and cold
a longing to be with someone
to have someone to love and hold
maybe we can be together
oh that you say that you will
i'll tell you of a sweet night night together
one that involves me and you
i stretch my hands to thee
thee oh lord
might
i find your might through your mercy

Breezy and gallus with nerves of steel
In him the team's heartbeat you could feel
He was the brains of that Celtic outfit
For that he deserves this little tribute
Exploiting an opening with defence splitting pass
Which allowed his teammates to step on the gas
Not being a man to turn the other cheek
Retribution he chose often to wreak
A little man but a giant on the field of play
Bertie Auld's name on Celtic fans' lips will always stay
Here was the Lion with the necessary bite
Always and ever ready, and up for the fight

2017 Year of the Rooster

"It is the year of the coq"
Said Alice from Dallas
"Rooster rhymes with booster
and gallus with phallus"

Ladies, prepare for a goose
Grope Meister Trump's on the loose
Not one clucking request
Will ever feather your nest

The Russians gave him a boost
So Grope Meister Trump rules the roost
But if you follow his lead,
"You're fired", with no chicken feed!

The Coq struts and crows
But forgets what he owes
To everyone in the coop
Who did not know "dupe" from poop!

Sea Urchin Mallus

Sea urchin Mallus was very callous
Sent a million sand dollars to Sellus
                                         Sellus was an wolf eel
                                          He wanted a roe deal
So he stole Stella's stole for a gallus

Felis Catus Lords Gallus Gallus Domesticus

without a rocking-chair in sight
ol' Tam or Tom rules the roost
guarding henhouse since the fox lit out
and the door fell off its hinges

'n' all the hens cackle nervously about
wondering what tale to tell will
Felis catus softly howl tonight
to lull them nestling to defenseless

An Anthropological Study of Chickens: Like Chicken Like Man

Gallus gallus domesticus, friend in times good and bad
An animal which didn’t evolve well
From dinosaur to clucking egg producer, isn’t that sad?
Trapped inside its wire-based cell

A hen brood fight; pecking order again
Feathers flutter like a torn pillow
Much like life for many women and men
We cannot fly, but ideas can billow

When the world ends, I’ll live in a coop
Nothing can get in, except for the hungry fox
It will be quite small, I might have to stoop
I’ll be safer in there, except from chicken pox

Post coitum omne animal triste est,

             sive gallus et mulier*

Yes, no cockerel who rules the cackling roost

   Will stomach slander from Latin master;

But who will stand aside and let the ghost

Of hints slur old motherhood’s register.

Manhood must of needs hang its head in pain

   After all the sweat and toil in loins of love;

After millions of squiggly soldiers in vain

Drop their lean tails at the egg wall alcove.

Only the fool who dares call woman’s bluff

   Shall learn hard way positions in bedstead;

Virile pride will sink in the depths of fluff

While smooth gym-trained muscles rage instead.

As they say hereabouts sur le vieil Continent

La différence, Mon Sieur: lip’s shade content.

· * “After the sexual encounter every animal is
grief-stricken,
excepting the cock and the woman.”
