Pregnant with purpose poetic pause
Writer’s block is not a loss
Tiz diner delay in dinner display
Food for thought will come someday
Until then freewrite little bird
Let loose excite winged word
For your talent is too great
To let a little Lego block in the way
Like opening your passenger door
2 cm above the curb, I exhaled with great relief.
And then I began to write. A freeing of one's
soul onto paper, inner most private thoughts
disguised as others' wild imaginations,
letting loose of all inhibitions,
only a freedom in which the innocence
of a child or a foolish drunk may experience,
writing for me
was a freeing of creative scratchiness
that finally
would unleash my messy caged thoughts
out into the open-
Free, from my mind.
First day of the year
I suppose I should be filled with cheer
Instead I’m where I wanted to be
In a state of balance finally
I don’t know what’s to come
Grateful I’m not feeling glum
A new start to a new year
Oh, I hope it’s filled with cheer
