The Animal In Us

To the Animal in me
To the Animal in you
To the heavens above
To the oceans blue

This beating heart
Two hearts in tune
This shattered world
Stands in ruins

This soul that ascends
To a higher plane
Removed from time
Far above the rain

Our worlds collide
And time stands still
Our passion detonates
Soaking in this thrill

You whisper to me
In a language that is our own
Our hearts melt into one
In this world we are alone

In this dark place
A shining light
My goddess
I know it's right

Smiles

When I think of an old love of mine
Her smiles in mem'ry brightly shine

She was a spotlight when smiling wide
And her grins all made me warm inside
Her tough smirk when she would start to dance
Had me wond'ring how I stood a chance

She was such a happy goofy kid
When I remember the things she did
Like naming friends Animal or cheese
Her laughter flowing like a breeze

And then those smiles that were just for me
Expressing ourselves intimately
My pet name when she tickled my chest
Her langorous ones in passion's rest

If she thinks of me at all today
I hope a smile on her lips will play

Seeking Solace

SEEKING SOLACE
by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS

Like a mortally wounded animal he retreats to his lair
Seeking, warmth and comfort, but alas, no one is there
The hurt so unbearable , oh god, send someone to share
He finds himself inconsolable, wallowing in utter despair
He needs to treat his wound, but alas, no one is there
The wound is so deep and aching its too much to bear

He struggles passionately needing someone to care
He is alone, isolated with agonies continuing to flare
Is there no end to this anguish he suffers, sanity beware
He can not carry this burden alone, but no one is there
Her absence is the wound, he had no time to prepare
Time had stolen her, he still searches, no, she is not there

The Beats of Jungle Love--

It's within my constitution, to be released of this concrete jungle; The hope of love, hopes of love; Echo sounds of ordinary rambles in this jungle; Sensual love but of none but you, I'm true, sure; Safari greenery animal sprees I'm your Tarzan, you'll be my Jane; Dissociation with humanity we shall contain; Humbly within this abode, I abode as we stroll; Dreams of associations nightmare tolls; Differences in city and jungle love; Kangaroo's teaching us urban dance, the bunny hops; May this jungle love never stop; We see the lioness came up, bitterly lamented the death of her whelp; Elephants sprinkling water from their spouts; Sensual love but of none but you, I'm true; Sensual beats the drums of jungle love;

Zombie To Be

In the morning a zombie I am till the night when I turn into a party animal
I party here and I party there
A party where I'm at
I see a hottie on my right
I wink here and I wink there
I look right at you hoping you'll come over
You look right at me
I lick my lips whispering come over here hoping you can read my lips
You come over asking for a dance to the lady next to me
Maybe you thought I was crazy but then the guy next to you came over
He was chatting up a storm with me.
He wink here and he wink there right at me
He ask for a dance
Step on that foot and step on the other
Oh how bad a dancer can one be
My feet are swollen and very painful
As sweet as he is when day light come a zombie I'll be
He'll ask for a kiss and I will deny because a zombie I'll turning into
Time to go good bye you and good bye to the hottie I wanted to take home
Good morning all time to rest these zombie eyes

To a Benevolent Soul

Just dried bread wetted in water for a whole month till you came
From the other end of the land! Whom on earth am I to blame?
Parents? Siblings? Friends or fellows? False professors and pupils?
It's a holy jungle in which no animal you can tame.

I still recall that beautiful, agéd girl of refinement*
Who once, noting in me a spark of human love, or a flame,
Nodded twice or thrice in wonder, talking to herself loudly
That affection had not yet turned entirely into a name.

Aye, that big bag of those canned foods you right away went and bought
And left without taking a rest told me once again the same
Old tale that God's eternal fire will for ever burn and glow
In the midst of the moles and bats who love darkness without shame.

By all you have sent me weekly for these years, time will defame
The conscienceless quasi-humans when they're gone, up is the game.

The First Day I Put Clothes On

The First Day I Put Clothes On

I was in the garden just me and my wife
This shortly after been given life
Was no rain, no weather then
All we had was just our skin
But alas this creature maybe that I've named
Came and told my spouse everything
So he seduced her and told her everything
On how we knew as much and maybe more than the creator
In advance we were told not to eat
None of the tree of the forbidden fruit
Ahh! but again we were beguiled
As the creature said you won't surely die
So first my naked wife took the fruit
Placed it in her mouth she bit of it
Then offered it up to me she said
Go on, it's O K
Now the winds came upon me
And the power of God was walking
And He spoke to me, and said...
"Now I see did you bite of the tree I told you not to eat"
I got cold in quilt and shame
I called on His name
I said to His looked Him in the eyes
And said this woman YOU gave me say it's ALL RIGHT
God said WHY WERE YOU HIDING
I said I was scared and afraid and naked
God said WHO TOLD YOU WERE NAKED
Ahh! I guess this man the serpent
Ahh! but again we were beguiled
Now the winds came upon me
So you see the real first pair of clothing was not animal skins
But the shredded articles of my first SINS
All we had was just physical eternal life on this earth in our skins
I was wrong...............
This is the first day I put clothes on

I Forgot To Think of You

Titanium,
Strong mental-minded, behind it
Looking for the lost and found, where can I find it?
Sharp energy intense, timed it
No one can see the future - I guess we’re all blinded.

Strong like gorilla, softer than blue, skys above your head sunny afternoon
Delicate delight, delicious every bite big appetite appetizer for 2
July, June, the order doesn’t matter after laughing so hard 3 ribs shatter through
May I join you?
Actually, I have to go
I can tell you only see the surface, alligator nose

Warm hearts and chilly toes,
mild mannered mannequins minding their own business in business windows,
hot fashion, eyes froze.

Ah, if you insist, then i suppose
Il have to take you UP on everything that grows
We rose from the dirt - with beauty through battles
To win a war where victory is life itself

The untold story writes itself
And hides from seeing eyes, just like itself
no one can witness when existence, fights itself
Because with death, comes birth, to life itself

No winners
No losers
No champions
No heros

...just life

Always adapting
Mutation miracles
Beautiful biology
Complex chemistry
Elegant elements
Unfathomable Universe

Sandbox fun, sandy hands holding ham sandwiches saran wrapped and packed tight tucked beside the ice and pink lemonade
Sunshine, windy day...so windy the umbrella we brought almost blew away
And found a new place to stay with clouds gray.

Did you remember to think of me?
I forgot to think of you
I was too busy with the feelings I get, being in love with you.

If you only needed one, I'd offer you two
It’s better to be safe than sorry, and feeling safe is what I want for you
And if you wanted to, I'd probably want to, too,
Cuz making you smile, is all, I ever want to do

I’m the worst singer in the world, but here, I wrote a song for you
Your voice is music to my ears, so this, is long overdue
Ah-hah ahem - give me a second
Actually, on second thought - let love be the orchestra,
Just read these words whenever you're concerned
And the sounds of violin strings will bring you back where you're supposed ta

Hmm...too cheesey? I know, please don’t tease me
Even my teeth are sensitive, and bright lights make me queasy

Hey, no worries, let’s grab a quesadilla
Then have a race to see-uh
Who’s the fastest land animal, who invited the cheetah?
