Spring
brings
Paradise.
Farewell
to Winter's
warm fires.
Cuddling
time
expires.....

I love the pitter-patter of the rain upon the glass
The soft rhythm creates memories that only dreams surpass
Cosy fireside moments while the weather beats her tune
Raptured with the thought of us being together soon
I love the sunset clouds as they warm the bluest moon
Memories of your caress as we lay on that golden sand dune
The sea, she distant murmurs, like a shell against my ear
Your tender caress takes our feelings to a new frontier
If there’s a world outside this place, my heart cannot perceive
Gazing into your eyes there's honesty, hard to believe
A depth of trust, like wings for flight, you take me high into the night
Into spell bound images of desire you are my guiding light

People started running,
for buses, taxis, trains,
with umbrellas no defence,
against the wind and rain,
a drowned rat cycled past,
then disappeared down a lane,
when lightening flashed, I dashed,
hoping to dry out again.
I shot past the pub’s “welcome” sign,
“No Prams or Pushchairs Inside”,
then scrutinised the menu,
for something not micro’d or fried,
with my paper, pint, pasty, and peas,
I sat by the warm fireside,
waiting for the storm to pass,
and brighter weather outside.

At dawn the sky exploded red;
Sunrise.

I remember a boy child
who thrilled to hear dark
ghost stories
Told around a crackling fire
circle of faces
looking
imaging down
heavy lidded
in toward suggestive
face drawn shadows
warming late night
glowing light.
Outdoor cold wildness
exciting safely distant terrors
experienced vicariously
around this goosebumping circle
of starlit trembling bliss
Safety,
sustained light of humane
encircling comfort,
shadowing resilient powers
of divinely demented health care
despair
Devoid, for this evening's moment
of ghosting cathartic fears
behind mythic morbid stories
avoiding bad guy
or sad girl
creepy nighttime visions.
I wonder,
now reflecting later peak experiences,
if a sequel love story
of young romance
between a boy and girl,
A passionate embrace
erasing space
in-between a boy
and boy,
A forgiving grace
for unconditioned regard
between two girls
who would not think to touch
without a grateful kiss,
Might these have been
a warmer loving way
to send us off
into cold sleeping bags
at end of camping day
anticipating dreams
of tender touching terror.

In the thick of January
The world is a cold, cold place
Insufferable, yet I'm not suffering
Winter's wrath
I'm home
Blissfully cocooned
In such a cozy domesticity!
I couldn't care less
About the looming winter storm
Or whether it's already snowing
I'm sheltered from the cold wind
It's warm and comfortable
By the fireside
There's no place I'd rather be!

By the fire in the night
Fireside firelight
Feeding air the flaring flames
Glowing dimly of amber orange
Slowly charring smoke rising up
By the fire in the night hearing that slight pop
Snapping the licking of the flickering flame
Afterglow the yellow to the engulfing of new grain
Wood untouched unburnt not yet fueled
Creeps along the fire pit
Sparking sparingly with the wind
Firelight fireside burning brightly as I sit
Hearing the wisps of flick to feed a process
Creating the base ashes are left
Grey to black coals to red
The fireside lit night unfolds
Embers glare as glow worms in the center pit
Watching as the fire consumes what is within
Evening with a fire alone solo just me
Unless I see the life as voiceless company

I'm sitting alone by the flame,
with lonely heart beating your name.
and thinking, my darling, of you.
I tried to enjoy the dance,
in my new gown, ordered from France.
It enhances my eyes of blue.
But no other arms felt like yours,
and all of my partners were bores.
Only your loving arms will do.

Burning embers in the night
Smoke is rising slow
Encasing me in warm delight
Creating mental glow
I close my eyes and listen to
The evenings soothing sounds
Like crickets chirps, the tree frogs peeps
And distant barking hounds
I languish in the darkness
Like the moon and stars above
I'm now at rest and I attest
That this is what I love
There's nothing so embracing
As a peaceful night alone
Sitting by the fireside
Behind my happy home
Rockman :-)

Sitting by the fire,
With the one I admire.
I've never wanted more,
It's him that I adore.
Flames reflecting off his face,
Making my heart race.
Time comes to a stop,
All my worries drop.
I feel as if I'm frozen,
For I'am the one he's chosen.
His touch sparks fire within me,
This proves to me it's meant to be.
No longer to be alone.
He's melted my heart of stone.
He holds a story within,
His heart welcomes me in.
I've given him my heart,
Never planning to part.
Looking into his eyes,
I know where my future lies.
Our future is bright,
Hearts full of light.
With the one I admire,
I sit by the fire.
A smile from ear to ear,
His words are what I hear.
All other sounds fade,
Each worry begins to fade.
With the one I adore,
I've never wanted more.
For it's him I admire,
With him I sit by the fire.
He is my heart's light,
For him I must fight.

When did I lose them --
Where did they go --
These things I remember
as a soft fire glows?
My early days, my springtime,
Left so far behind --
Comes quietly returning
As memories unwind.
Circus days and Sundays,
Spotted pups and Mondays,
A summer breeze, some Christmas trees,
A sad day in November.
Quiet nights and rivers,
Some takers and some givers,
Playing tag with all the kids,
Movie stars on ice cream lids,
A Mother's love, a wounded dove,
Are things that I remember.
Did I ever own them?
Were they ever mine?
Or does the fire play tricks on me
At this point in time?
Many magic yesterdays,
In the fire glow,
Just dance on through my reverie
And help the memories grow.
Fresh mown grass and kittens,
Superman and mittens,
Country stores and school yard fights,
Fuzzy worms and broken kites,
And cousins without number.
A child next door, when I moved away,
Stole my heart another day.
The firelight and memories
Give life to ample fantasies
To last through my December.

Black birds in the sky
Tumbling in droves to the ground
Omen for last year
The grass grows greener
Where clouds hide sunlight in rain
The coming of war
I can write the day
However I spell the sun
Freedom is but words
Some search for old links
In new metaphors, poems
Like women change too
Here the radical
Is a root deeply breasted
On the milk of soil
Black birds fall again
From blue eyes of wonderment
The pogram threatened
