Back To Her Youth By Margo Channing

She is aware of distance,
a distance that replaces smooth with wrinkle,
that adds weight to where it once fell away,
a distance as controllable as a storm, as time itself.

It feels likes a rope thinning,
each frayed line of twine aims
to remind that no longer
is she considered fine and soon
a lover’s 'mine and thine' will
drown in a bottle of wine, corked.

Mirrors reflect a youth in famine,
spotted with age like a dalmatian
with rheumatic limbs. Breath stinking.

Like the missing t in her name she
wonders where her ingenue years are.
They curled into smoke, melted ice, a suitcase

misplaced. She hopes in finger crossed wishes
that he is not aware of this distance,
this distance that seemed to matter not when they met
but these years eight between them spread slowly,
a molasses seeping over skin and sex,
showing him her true self – aged, past –

dry dirt on an earth that only celebrates pastures new.

Roman Empire

Collapsed so they say long ago
due to Cleopatra’s long nose
that pierced a General’s heart
got him stuck there in love
till the army was demolished
what terrible accident in history!

Every man, every women
big, small, learned or never
empires, kingdoms, nations
a Cleopatra with long nose
will appear from no where
to intercept and bury surely
things that matter in life
Crumbling effects she brings
the way of life in this world
a mystery it is, doubt you may
but we all live in the world
we know not its laws of work
finger-crossed and dumbness
are the ways but not the habit

Unknown Ends

Time as stream flows
 Ages as the wind blows
 Experience as plant grows
But the end no one knows

 Winter brings its thunder drops
 Summer hits our tender crops
 Nature keeps our finger crossed
 But the story never stops

People as snow drops and dry
Thrones as men lives and die
Crowns as flowers fade at night
But the play never seem to fly

 Sparrows up the sky croons
 Shadows on the wall zooms
 Our balls withrapt attention looks
But time never seem to die so soon

Our life: a play of suspence
As the sky it seems it has no end
As the oceans we peep to see its ends
But what we only see is an unknown end
