Randall the Rat, had fangs so pearly.

But, his bad temper, sang so surly.

Cat caged, spit out his food!

The Rat raged, shouted...Dude!

Just bite me!...and don't call me Squirrely!

Sixty Fangs: Part Two

I remember now!
His name was the Crenshaw Cowboy!
He was the one who told me I descended from kings!

This is why I jump over the fence
Why I kick the fence
We pillaged and burned
Doing only what we needed to survive
So that we could one day tear the fence down and make peace

Or maybe I'm wrong and death is the only way not to kill.

Sixty Fangs

bruised tank top
	name’s been scratched out

a guy jumps over the net fence,
	out of the dog’s yard
smoother than the water in a wine glass.

guy says “what you talkin’ bout”
and then it’s nothing but nothing words and prepositions

i remember the dog’s name was Mocha
	covered in scars
a black belt in Wing Chun
	currently majoring in Philosophy
	which is even more scary

some guy said to me that people like us
		are actually kings
they all said the same thing
but they were all right, you know
maybe i just didn’t think of it

Premium MemberThe fangs of fate

The fangs of fate, they pierce in deep
Can we shrug and move on
Will we take a consciousness leap
In the face of death, yawn

Heart pure like morning dew
Void-centric is soul’s view
Letting life flow renew

Smile and negate
The fangs of fate

A wolfs embrace

There is nothing like falling for a wolf.
To which you would do anything for.
After once wounding the wolf,
there is not a length you will go to repay the wolf.

For allowing his fangs in your neck
means his bite may redeem your sins.
So you let him bite and hope it is hard enough
to leave you unconscious of any sin you may have committed.

After all, the wolf knows better than a dumb bunny.

Premium MemberHave Fangs, Will Travel

Yes, they travel about the Soup!
Snakes that really do not like you.
What? Yes, they may even bite you!

Their cover is humor, mostly.
Innocent you, smiling, takes the bait.
Alas, you took the poison, tis too late!

Much outstanding humor written here!
By decent poets, I find quite safe and dear.
Be sure to check first, for a strange rattle
sound in your soul and in your ear!

Saboteur

Gleeful roses turn to sullen churls,
And virgin smiles of shyest brides
Soonest morph into widowed furls;
Sad victims of your ill-bladed tides.

Swearing lovers of staunchest troth
Must sample your bitterest swill too,
And forfeit bonds of grandest worth,
As you gaily gloat like vilest foes do.

Most ardent toilers all hours round
In shady hands fattest gains leave,
Mowed to abysses dark worlds far;
To aliens you their ripe labors give.

And not even sure-shooting hunters still,
Can with all probity wait to taste their kill.
Bards of sharpest wits and niftiest tropes,
Thus must bow and trim ink’s wild hopes.

Your dial’s dual fangs envenom all matter,
And you’re Joy’s most culpable Saboteur!

Like Angels, Winged

Like Angels, Winged
by Michael R. Burch

Like angels—winged,
shimmering, misunderstood—
they flit beyond our understanding
being neither evil, nor good.

They are as they are...
and we are their lovers, their prey;
they seek us out when the moon is full
and dream of us by day.

Their eyes—hypnotic, alluring—
trap ours with their strange appeal
till like flame-drawn moths we gather...
to see, to touch, to feel.

Held in their arms, enchanted,
we feel their lips, so old!,
and with their gorging kisses
we warm them, growing cold.

Fangs

The town children
Only feed at night
Never to face the sun
Dark eyes, emotionless smiles
Tongues darting across razor fangs

The town children
Hunt under the harvest moon
Until the shadows disappear
White pallid skin
Blood red lips

Beware o traveler
Of town children at night
Your desire to give aid
Will only lead you
To a bloody grave

Hidden Fangs

Web of sin
Web unseen
Evil done in the dark
Leaving hidden marks
Softly done
Guilt gone
Conscience sold
Truth untold
Things hidden in a closet
More awards to collect
No one needs to know
As long as it doesn’t show
Manipulating minds
A curtain they hide behind
Showing off artificial halos
Dangerous fellows!
They camouflage their horns
With pretty shiny crowns
They hide their fangs
Behind smiles and generous hands
But behind the closet doors
Lies a dungeon of horror
Truth unseen
So they continue to sin
Luring their prey
Serving promises with gold trays
They spin their webs
Catching millions in their web
With just one promise…fame!
A chance to be in the game
To run the world
And gain the world
Sugar on their lips
They roam the world
With hidden fangs
And generous hands
