It is irrelevant what you say or feel
The power to prohibit love is real
It’s irrefutable that prejudice lives
Human programing is what it is
Though irrational when reason gives
It’s logic promotional where difference is
Irrespectable the selfishness it creates
The prototype of unwarranted hate
Sometimes irresistible the ever present call
The progress of mans prolonged fall
The irritable habit that often appalls
The provision of law that confuse all
Irrespective of exclusive clause
The creation of habit and certain protocol
We give honor to Epimetheus’ after thought
Without Prometheus’ for thought
That irreplaceable are ideals that right
To protect the weak we all must unite
Irreversable this all to understand
Proclaim injustice in our lands
Irreplaceable our dedication to God
Projecting the light that shines abroad
Irrepressible the unseen laws
Progress to right the wrong without pause
Irrespectability must take leave
Providential powers must take lead
Irresponsibility must not deceive
Profess, protest, and provide prosperity
I forged my dreams in the mire of regret
The past had not passed me for long
The angel of Death awaits my plea of ignorance
While the sands of time bury my aspiration
I acknowledge my mistakes
Yet, do not learn from them--
Walking backward with Epimetheus off the cliff
My disdain surmounts my discerning heart's integrity
Between me, myself, and I
We produce the same Lie
Gouging out my eyes to spite my mind
I am solely affixed to its lack of fervor
My descent into dissent imprisons me
This island is no longer a paradise
I cannot run from my own mind
But, I can turn down the volume, just for tonight...
The touch of lips- brief and soft.
There was no more grief.
This evening forever lost in memory.
Through the ripples of untroubled water, we sat.
The waves rolled closer.
Together we crashed by the pull of the tide.
Anxiously losing track of time.
The wave- thick, unforgiving.
Retraced its step.
And I forever lost.
Forever inhaling it's essence.
Forever remembering that night with closed eyes.
I'm wasted by my apathy
I'm barely even here
My will knows Ambiguity:
A grievance for my peer
I rarely Love my fellow man
Or, practice what I preach
Deception is my biggest fan
My Dreams are out of reach
I live as Epimetheus:
And, run from each mistake
I hide my Lies, like most of us
And, give much less than take
I lust to see my Ego fed
To hope this Lie is true
But, deep inside, I feel I'm dead--
Pretending, just like you...
Subjected to Frost at an early age
I and friends have since chosen our way
Thus many have traveled on the trodden path
I as Epimetheus see their folly at last
Knowing their hearts- how they long to go back
We few who still walk stringently down a narrow way
Have no desire to dwell back to that day
The path of life chosen this few now walk
Leads to the dream we long have stalked
Sequestered dreams by hoards at wayward doors
Glitzing a promise to a path more worn
Tis easy on the eyes, the heart, and the feet
Making each voluptuous gate seemingly straight-sweet
But I keep to this narrow grassy path- chosen by me
For to waver or detour would be dream’s death to me
Who would have thought, when Epimetheus
Had seen the utmost beauty sent by gods,
He would not listen to Prometheus,
And keep his hands away? What were the odds?
Because of him, we now have amongst us
All evil things, from pain to very death,
From anger up to illness, and, alas,
From greed up to the envy's stinking breath...
But also, due to him and his embrace
Of warm desire for the beauty found,
When sweet Pandora opened up her case
And all the blights kept spreading all around,
We have one tiny, fragile, magic rope,
That keeps us going on forever: HOPE.
Presents of beauty, music, and persuasion, given to her and more.
A woman most earnestly desired, the first completely created by lore.
Now call her name of Pandora, which means “All gifted” forever.
Desired by Prometheus, but given to Epimetheus a brothers love to sever.
Only her curiosity set forth a chain that will remain until the end of never.
Remember, she was gave a jar, told not to open, for anything ever.
Alas she broke the seal, opened the jar, she felt that she was so clever.
Sending out such evil to which we may still be paying, with such a score.
Let this be a warning, to all who are gave such things, by a higher power.
Anguish and despair, will come to you, as it did her within her living hour.
Misled by her curiosity, she scurried to catch the contents she had exposed.
Eagerly she tried, but all had escaped, but one item that remained un-disposed.
Now we all must find, what she never let escape, from the jar that was gave.
Tell you what it was; you say so bold, hope for now and beyond the grave.
