I dedicate this day, to those women
Who faced domestic violence and abuse
And went into a silent recluse
For the sake of their family and children.
I dedicate this day, to the women wronged
Who smiled, wading through fears and tears
Bore the brunt of violence with silence,
Unsure if their stand was weak or strong.
I dedicate this day, to those bread winners
To the lustre-lost women- to all the mothers
Who fended for love all these years
Abandoned, unappreciated- Life's reminders.
I dedicate this day- to those roses of every hue
Who carried on- ensconcing worries with smiles
Myriad emotions-camouflaged without a clue
Waging her wars all alone -against human viles.
Great women - at different walks of life
Each trying to carve a niche of her own
Appreciate her- give her the dignity
May the 'She' in her blossom from within.
Happy Women's Day.

Here I stand
facing the crimson sea;
My bare feet
deeply mounted~
on the silken shore
as the creeping sun
like an ember ensconcing~
on distant islets
leaving a warm afterglow.
Alas, my heart is as cold
as the gust of winds
caressing my hair
making it sway
like that of Pocahontas.

I started a Corona diary
today, recording what is happening,
and how it’s impacting my family,
as we adhere to social distancing.
There’s more than just one minor risk involved,
that causes us to give this germ wide berth,
to mitigate this problem, not yet solved,
impacting every life on planet Earth.
Most stores are closed, and factories are si-
lent, in a fateful effort to preserve
all lives, both young and old, as we apply
new rules, in hopes to flatten out the curve.
So, here I am ensconcing with my wife,
recording Covid’s changes to my life.

Refusing to define
Even worse to explain
On the surface descriptive
At its essence mundane
Restating excuses
Ensconcing the lie
The sage waxed poetic
—you still asking why

Satin blooms emit christening glow
Fertile shroud glistening in the morning dew
Burgeoning life cloaked in feathery milieu
Fecund shroud pared; tiny tubes left on life support
Branching shoots emerge; emerald buds suspend
Fetal scales ballast submerged embryos
Gilding beams stream; ingratiating juices flow
Crescent globes expand, ensconcing fragile buds
Branching veins new life extends
Waxy, green blades vibrant foliage portends
Blades segment; fibrous tissue new route plans
Two ventricles around the main arteries band
Lush fronds; burnished strands

Smooth, effervescent glowing skin
Free of blemish and blighting toxin
Undulating curves of glossy satin
Red cloak shrouds comely Saracen
At the core a being of fibrous substance
From stem to sternum burgeoning affluence
Delicately woven fabric with scintillating elegance
At close quarters emanating a sweet fragrance.
A free-flowing stem signaled detachment
A stalky divide prevented rapprochement
Intricate, inner designs forestalled advancement
Coarse, deepening chasm threatened determent.
Forthwith, I loves tender began to preen
Steadily peeling through the stealthy sheen
Cutting to heart's core, affections to glean
Loves' seed from ensconcing barriers did ween.
