Endorphins Poems

Endorphins

Starting to think that love isn’t real
Something we say, not something we feel
Frivolous rhymes soften the blow.

A ruse evoked by the brain,
Chemical explosions alter and addict.
Life forces fuse like hot metal,
But cool so fast they become brittle
Tolerance builds, chemicals fade, and the war begins
Perpetual battles for small doses, proving our love true

For some, the doses are enough
Anniversaries with digits next to decades
Others see error in choice, but crave the full effect.

Why do my chemicals always remain?
Maybe my brain is broken like it is with booze.
The cryptic off-switch eludes my fragile heart
Maybe love is real, and it only exists in the broken.

I know what you must think. What if it’s you?
Does toxicity spew from my pours?
Am I the retardant for chemicals adored?
The answers compete with love’s lack of existence.

So now I dwell in my new home,
Between rocks and hard places,
Grasping hope with sad faces

Premium MemberWell Being

A person's health should never be ignored
A path to wellness needs to be explored
Mind, spirit, and body need to be embraced every day
A balance of diet and exercise show me the way
Opening the door for endorphins to come out to play
Creating waves of happiness that last all-day
Quieting the mind a need to create
A good night's sleep will surely await
Stress and anxiety will be left to float away
Positive thoughts with a purpose here to stay
Remember you have one life you need to control The choice is yours make it your goal

Premium MemberWhat Makes You Happy

There are a lot of things going on in our world right now that are creating the opposite effect
The cost of living, political unrest, and crazy weather are some of the main suspects
Happiness for me is spending time with family and friends
Listening to my favorite songs is always a positive trend
The best way to prevail in this world is to look after yourself and try to stay in shape
A vacation in winter to a tropical place is a welcome escape
Everybody has something that tends to make them very happy
Think of what you did to turn your thoughts around when you were feeling crappy
Even if it proves to be overcast and windy outside, pull yourself out of your chair and go for a walk, what do you say
Endorphins kick in sending waves of happiness your way
The warmth of the sun tends to bring a smile to most people's faces
Get out and enjoy nature and visit some interesting places

The evolution of a song;
Blasted beat builds
soft lyrics tie it together;
Music’s lure wields;

A melody becomes timeless,
so much airplay;
Endorphins always deliver
a brighter day.

Endorphins

this person running at the gym
she does it not because she needs to stay
fit
she does it not because she wants to look
hot
she does it not because she has to appear
younger
or
healthier
(physically),
as all these barriers have been leaped over &
from the outside she looks like
she’s walking tall amongst the flock of the
wretched
where she’s envied by most that come in contact with her
for one reason or another,
but she hides a secret inside
why it is that she runs so much
why it is that she exercises until
the cows come home
(moooooooooooooooo) &
that is because it causes endorphins to
rush to her head &
swish throughout her body,
bringing her to a natural high
that would be clichéd to even remark of
if it didn’t really work &
the doctors say that when she feels good
that she should watch herself
because her illness might be stirring up again,
so she runs quietly,
pushing her body to the limit &
shuddering joyfully as the energy
courses through her veins &
the pain in her mind goes away
for one more day.
