Not all inherit a father's noble name,
Some learn deceit, others theft, and shame.
But I, blessed with a virtuous sire,
Inherited values that my heart desires.
My children will learn to reverence age,
With humility and sobriety, they'll engage.
A caring heart, I'll pass on to them,
Diligence and God-fearing, their guiding gem.
Emancipator, Eldorado, Ephaptha too,
Will learn the core values, integrity shines through.
Estevan and Estefan, honesty and love,
Will be their guiding principles, sent from above.
I'll uphold godliness with contentment true,
A legacy of virtue, forever shining through.

Eldorado
In Sokoto's land of ancient pride,
A miracle unfolded, your birth inside,
A mother's vision of a daughter dear,
Yet, fate's design wove a different thread, a boy appear.
God's blessings flow like a river wide,
Unfathomable, His wisdom does reside,
No mortal mind can grasp His divine plan,
A mystery that guides the course of life's span.
Your early days, a test of parental might,
Terror gripped their hearts, a fragile light,
Your silence, a concern that would not cease,
A nocturnal journey to the clinic's release.
The doctor's words, a balm to soothe their soul,
The humidity and heat, a temporary role,
Your growth, a tapestry of wonder and might,
A treasure trove of laughter, a heart alight.
Your smile, a radiant sun that lights the way,
A thriller that captivates, come what may,
Eldorado, a son of promise, a shining star,
May your days be long, your journey near and far.
Happy birthday, dear son, may this day be bright,
A celebration of life, a wondrous delight.

In my dreams
I am limitless
Laws of nature
Are suspended
Force of gravity
Is amazed.
In my dreams
I can fly
Visas are
Not required
Immigration officials
Are bemused.
In my dreams
I am cashful
Bureau De change
Is short-changed
Demand and supply
Are hereby suspended.
In my dreams
I fly to Eldorado
Desires so real,
Reality realm in check
Dreams so real
Imagination is obscured.
In my dreams
I am free, so
Free to fly
Not on a broom stick
Sights only imagined.
In my dreams
My dream cars,
Arrayed in my garage
Chauffers lined up.
In my dreams
I am living my dreams
I don't want to ever wake up
My Dreamland my Gloryland
My impossibility made possibility
Dreams so real
Realism is bemused
Nothing is impossible
In these dream realm.
Alarm bells invades my world
Jerking back, to realms so real.
Alas!! It was a dream, I am awake!!!

Oh, give me a home where majestic buffalo roam,
Where antelope graze and rushing streams foam!
A place where snow-capped mountains reach for the sky,
And gentle winds waft through blue spruce with soothing sigh!
Oh, give me a home where golden eagles soar on high;
Where skeins of geese delight my senses with their clarion cry!
A home where splendid sunrises greet me each morn,
And spectacular sunsets, The Master Artist, the sky doth adorn!
Oh, give me a home where verdant fields thrive with golden grain;
Where cowpokes herd cantankerous cattle on wide-open plain!
A place where magnificent mountain goats and sheep can be viewed,
On steep and rocky tors, content with their own, seeking solitude!
Oh, give me a home where in autumn, elk vent their plaintive blare,
Seeking to charm the feminine species to provide himself an heir!
Where glorious Columbine blossoms grow in profusion,
And golden leaves of aspen create a fairy-land-like illusion!
Unlike the hapless and adventurous Conquistador,
I've found that home and so very much more!
I've found my beautiful Eldorado,
Right here in Colorful Colorado!

For full nine months forlorn widow,
Every nine hours by window;
Men watching their every shadow,
Still hoping for her Ricardo,
Who'd promised her Eldorado,
This doing in a Choice Meadow...
Now, The Incommunicado,
Gone her main source of Bravado
And Volunteering Troubadour,
To her a Buck she to him Doe,
Ricardo, not innocent, though...
Slain for vanishing with Grang's dough

We were; yes we were!
Brewed for this day.
Innured a yoked thicket.
Offing but at the nose tip
Till we had a stomach full
Receiving more, yet, we keep.
The bitter-tasting dark fluid.
Which settles in our veins.
Blurring our sight
And quaking our feet.
Our feet? Thorned for irrigation
Of blood and sweat.
The flower rejoiced; we winced.
Perseverance replaced our view
As Eldorado floods our sight.

My prom date purchased a 1963 triple black
Eldorado convertible and drove up to surprise me.
There was something shroud-like about it.
I immediately saw the grim reaper,
And he was ready to kill me under a bridge somewhere.
Not only ready, glad to do it.
I refused to ride in that “death trap”
So we walked to the dance.
It feels like a hearse, I told my date.
That was fifty years ago.
He still laments selling his “dream car” two days later
Losing money on it because it was either me or it.
I roll my eyes each time.
Not caring, and not changing my mind.
He is still my date, so I think he chose wisely.

Once I was a king
And I ruled the world
Now I'm just a prince who rules you girl
Girl I would do anything
Do anyting just everything
In the world for you
Just to prove to you
That I would forever darling, never darling stop loving you
I was once a poet
Who wrote a rhyme or two
I want a song to sing, to my darling
All the million dollars throw into Eldorado
And sailed a yacht but now I'm just a plain ordinary man
In the world for that I'm no longer a prince the king or rich man
But I can still buy you anything you need those everything's For you are my precious little thing
I can still buy you anything you need, my darling
Oh you're are so ever precious little thing
You're my sugar in my coffee
And the cream in my tea
Mighty you're the one I adore
And you do not only for me what I've been looking for
I can still buy you anything you need cuz my darling
Oh My Darling you're my precious little thing and I adore you

Taking Coleridge at his word,
I hied me to a rural scene
To leave behind the madding herd
For where Titania reigns the queen.
Ah! ‘Tis hard to wax romantic,
Though bees hum and boughs do sway,
To close the mind to all the frantic
Things that jostle us each day.
No more the gentle rustic peasant,
No more the green wood wild and free.
This national park, however pleasant,
Some how’s a substitute to me.
What the elm, the oak, the fir,
O what yon flowery slopes to win,
And all that Nature’s beauties stir
Is marred by that blooming Cola tin.
These eyes absorbing and receptive
Scan the prospect domed with blue,
Yet that unsightly thing rejected
Does little to enhance the view.
Would Wordsworth's cloud lift my powers,
lest these powers should sag.
In lieu of glorious yellow flowers
I spy but a wandering plastic bag.
And though you find your Eldorado
By some far-off golden shore,
Whiles yet you munch your avocado
Above the chartered Jumbos roar.
Back then to the grind of duty,
Congested roads, polluted air.
From such as these fashion beauty.
New Millennial Baudelaire.

Werifesteria
Werifesteria
A stroll through silence
The ancient wooded arena
The magical wudu
Where rays caress,
play games
with young creatures
for something to do
This weald at daybreak
The beauty and heartache
Moving mist shadow
Soft chilled emerald
This dark eldorado
This deep shady wold
The moon and red star
This gift to the old
Kissed scented ground

There's simply
No magic in life!
Yeah, there's no
magic password "Open Sesame"
Nor an Aladdin's magic lamp,
There's no Midas touch
Nor any Philosopher's Stone,
There's no crystal ball
No magic wand
No flying carpet
Nor a magic mirror;
There's no magic mantra
Nor an Aesculapius' Staff,
No Atlantis,
No Holy Grail,
No Elixir or Ambrosia,
And, no Heaven or Hell;
There will neither be
A Kingdom of Heaven on earth,
Nor an afterlife Paradise!
Beseech not
the hand of Lady Luck
Nor pin your hopes
on that pot of gold,
Do not embark on a voyage
seeking the Treasure Island,
Nor venture out to find
the fabulous Eldorado.
In the sweat of his face
Man will eat his bread
until into the ground
forever he is laid,
For he is born of dust
And unto dust he'll return!

There’s work to do
We must be on our way
Souls to save all are waiting
For my box of prayers
I have a string tied around it
And carry It with a stick
It’s a lot easier when you walk
The tracks to have it on a stick
Things get tricky when a train comes
Round the bend and you’re carrying it
With both hands
That’s why I have a string and a stick
The sinners don’t care as long as I
Can read them a prayer from heaven
And receive their souls
To be served up hot to go
To Jesus our Lord
Who runs a BBQ stand
Down on 4th and Eldorado
He lets me stand on his car sometimes
So I can preach the words of Jesus
Or just talk in tongues if I get the notion
I know he is Jesus cause it says so on his
Driver license and he has scars on his hands and feet.
I love him so and he loves my box of prayers
He says that God brought us together
And if he was to have a sister I would be she
Sister of Jesus…now ain’t that something?
