It's one of the plus's of living in Scotland
if you are over the 60 plus age band
travel is free from John O'Groats to Dumfries
giving one the opportunity having a free hand
In a land like Scotland full of great scenery
rugged mountainside and lochs so deep
surrounded by oceans east and west
the Atlantic and the North Sea are a mighty leap
So, my favourite trips are to Inverness and Perth
also love Dunfermline, Andrew Carnegie's town
Edinburgh the capital with its wonderful castle
many lovely places in the borders to be found
Being brought up in the county of Ayrshire
I love to go back and walk Irvine's beach
also back to Kilmarnock bring the memories back
there my home town kept me on the right track
So the buses with its many numbers
taking us over 60s far and near
deckers single and double all for free
blessed trips always forever in top gear

Stephen is Libby Clegg’s younger brother,
Their other brother is James - all 3 at Rio,
Because they all have Stargardt’s Disease,
A deteriorating eye condition that's genetic.
Their mother is Moira who lives in Dumfries,
So they all know the top Royal Blind School,
Which is in Edinburgh and teaches the skills,
Of ironing, washing clothes for their life fine.
Both boys attended a mainstream primary,
But there they did not encourage the talent,
That that they both exposed at swimming,
So the Blind School gave them time, effort.
Stephen was born 23rd November in 1995,
And swims freestyle in the category of S13:
At the Europeans in Portugal’s city Funchal,
He made three finals, set a PB in the 400m.

I have two pairs of boots for walking
one is navy and the other brown
really comfortable they are
step by step up and down
On my travels around Scotland
my boots are always on
one day brown the other navy
many miles travelled dusk to dawn
They go to many a place
Edinburgh, Stirling and Ayr
also Dumfries, Perth and Fife
over border too for change of air!
Many a mile they've travelled
over hill, path, glen and coast
but always keep their comfort
truly superb that I can boast
Hope they last a while yet
that would be real good
many more miles to travel
keeps me fit but never nude!

Robert Burns - P is for Poet.
Intro- Rabbie Burns stated on his deathbed on 27th July 1796 that he did not want the Awkward Squad i.e. Scots Military firing a tribute to him at his graveside.Burns wish was not granted and he died with full military honours with thousands lining the streets of Dumfries, Scotland.
At the graveside the Scots Military fired three volleys as the dirt was shoveled into his grave.
P is for Poet
Peasantry pulled by independent thoughts
Posthumous plaudits, academics besot
Penury not privilege, to which you were born
Poor ploughman's son, sowed our new poetic dawn
Prescriptions for passion and artistic artillery
Paradoxical pilgrim in heaven's distillery
Poetic pied piper, peat-fuelled injected ink
P is for poet, from your chalice we'll drink
Persecuted profile, diagnosis was death
Painful, your passing, blood in your last breath
Pistols point skywards, as Awkward Squad fire!
Pageantry and pomp as dying wish expires.
RIP ROBERT BURNS.
