It's a topsy-turvy world
Once-straight hair's now curled
From a putrid drop does
a precious newborn unfurl
Pry open the menacing clamshell
to remove a shining pearl
Swoops in an airborne twister
even rocks and boulders do whirl
Today mere commoners become
princesses, duchesses or earls
Benders transform lumps of food
into refined, delicate swirls
But poor girls' dreams die
in doughty aprons of working girls
burying rich visions of
fancy ballerinas who twirl

There once was a princess
Who lived in a far away land
She wore the most gorgeous burgundy dress
And she took off her shoes as she walked in the sand
She grew up around a family of duchesses, princesses and queens
Who told her to be lady like around guests
But she strived to be nothing but a king
And he did just that and nonetheless
He began to try on dress shirts and fitted pants
And he felt right at home
He could then hear the chants
He had more fans of his own
Now it was time for his royal crowning
By the ocean with the coral reef and the sharks
He stood tall and spoke his words without drowning
“I am King Skylark.”

Another Hollywood Set
What I know about England is notoriety
So you must be member of some society
And list of them was trying to compile
For women was biscuit and men sun dial.
How about lunch of biscuits in a basket
Have hour glass and be sure to ask it
And now wonderful self do grab hold
There have one for fortunes to be told.
Vibrant England even has a vestry board
Dukes, duchesses and looks like a Lord
Had heard about a nice, neat little boy
Who they liked to call Lord Fondleroy.
Who would want to fondle Roy anyway?
See him ride off on horse and hear say
Due to many difficulties and deep regret
They went and killed my favorite pet.
A fine, passing fancy it just became
My horse is a man and not a dame
And to heaven horses they never let
Saved cadaver for another Hollywood set.
