Drowses Poems

Winter Slumber

Winter comes like a dose of sleeping pill.
It drowses the minds to slumber,
like the day and night are the same,
in the thickness of cold mists.

The freezing cold makes some souls
feel better to be still,
but the daring ones see it
as thrilling opportunity for misty adventures.

Either boarding on snow or hiking,
skiing, skating or sledging,
winter is a challenging season for those who
seek to challenge their capacity to perspire.

But there is more on winter that some sometimes fail to realize;
It is also the season for love and giving graces,
especially to those in need
and those who seek comfort from the freezing storm.

Winter is also the season for new beginning,
where a new dawn comes in silver glow,
while the minds seek ways
to lay the mood for all the seasons.

*There is no winter season in our country, but in our place, it is freezing cold.*

September

the languishing time
life’s richness is muted
every note lowers—still sweet
the pale tone won’t last long
raindrops could fall warm or cold
a single leaf drifts slowly to the ground
nature drowses in a brief stillness
only a moment
still plenty of painting to do

My Cat

She squats, a noiseless brilliant sphinx
And thinks with drowses, yawns and purr
She turns upward, gives her full think
I put down my book and see her
Grinning into her soft furry
O' as she brushes it pretty
With her delicate tongue firstly
Tail held high -it's Serenity
