Desensitised Poems

My Self Worth

My mouth always late to stop
speaking thoughts outside the box
direct and true words causing shock
saying things the rest do not

singled out too many times
meaning the impact declines
embarrassment this implies
in me is now desensitised

cus when it happens everyday
it becomes the only way
used to not receiving praise
and having people in your face

no need to seek out your approval
never known it so unusual
fake is something I've no use for
my self worth isn't formed by people

my success is mine to notice
so is failure and feeling hopeless
others see me out of focus
judging how they see I wrote this

Words Forbidden To Be Expressed

Words forbidden to be expressed
A dangerous fact to be disclosed
Making the whole world depressed
I am sorry that you are so obsessed
With the words never to be expressed
The words are secretly decomposed
Scattered around after being recomposed
Spread like bean paste after being compressed
Taste like sweet chilli that’s been reprocessed
Eaten by idiots who are systematised
The paste lost its nature but it’s flavour is militarised
For the nations, hatred was perfectly modernised
Effectively fighting in the war that was standardised
Such usable propaganda must be fully released
Please sleep on people and be hospitalised
Don’t worry, you will soon be desensitised

Words forbidden to be expressed
A dangerous fact to be disclosed
Making the universe so confused

Wake up, ladies who were hypnotized
Come out, gentlemen who were fictionalised
From where you were unfortunately misdiagnosed
Where “I love you” is forbidden to be expressed

Reflections of Me

An image portrayed by my mirror,

not projecting the correct colour,

negatives disregarding this persons

experience, reflecting

inevitable cold reality of

demise,

no more pastels or amber reds,

just blurred silver grey,

past events reflected in wrinkles,

baggage of life under sad eyes,

desensitised lips that once gave pleasure,

WHO is this person looking back at me.

The Lord Mighty In Battle

God's anointed are chosen to stand against
the children of darkness; those devoid of light.

They become the prey, none-the-less, they
choose to stay.

Surrounded by the enemy day and night;
stuck in the lions den; no help in sight.

Lions, tigers, wolves and bears; ready and
waiting to tear them apart. Citizens are
terrorized; some become traumatized,
others desensitised.

But when His anointed call upon Him,
He is their present help, their protector,
their deliverer, their strength and their
peace.

He is the Creator, the one who will fight
the imitator. Whole Cities shall be won,
by just one. The Lord Mighty in Battle.

The Source of Your Magic

Your presence is like a thin fabric
That I wear here and now with comfort
Unveiled through each breath I take

My eyesight like a pair of scissors,
Slices through with each blink you mirror
An ordinary day becomes a day in the life

Through the ripples of your touch
I drop into your devotion
Your tide carries me beyond sensation

With words in affectionate thought
I connect to your illusive soul
To the unknown source of your magic

A single breath away..
Our irrational fears desensitised
Subtly, you help me face the long years

Our heartbeats synchronised
I retire never having learnt your secret
And we disappear harmoniously into the past

News Time

News Time
Upon waking I checked the online news. And was shocked to see a plane crashing. The photo showed it clipping a motorway bridge. It looked like a whale about to die. The cart wheeling crash ended in the sea. Survivors struggled from the wreckage but most died. Caught by stormy weather from the nearby typhoon. It doomed their plane, stealing lives.

If that wasn't enough, seeing the Jordanian F-16 pilot captured by ISIS was utter hell. If being shot down and held prisoner wasn't enough, the Muslim extremist terrorists burnt him live in a cage. All caught on video. Was this because he was an enemy pilot who bombed them? What will his widow think? Jordan's revenge was immediate. Several terrorists were hung.

What will I see next? Something even worse to shock me? What happens if I become desensitised? And aren't affected by the evil reported events? I must keep my humanity close.

So Much

There’s so much suffering I never want to see
So much profanity I don’t ever want to hear
Desensitised to never want to care
Hypnotised to ever need to worry

There’s so much pain I never want to feel
But self-righteousness makes me want to kill
So much turmoil that I first need to heal
But my world is so out of control

There’s so much love I want to share
But there’s so much hatred I fear
There’s so much warmth I want to show
But there's too much of which I’m unsure

There’s so much decay I need to improve
An empty void I need to fill with love
There’s so much temptation to choose death
Too much propaganda to know the truth

Black Sheep Drawback

‘BLACK SHEEP DRAWBACK’

Discouraged, anxious and unsure—pitch black tarmacs start their war
Petrified, panicked and distressed—uncertainty cracks amidst unwelcomed guests
Dissociated and desensitised a perfect attack—as nervous disposition follows predictable tracks
Another prestigious black tie event—suites and shoes will seldom boycott consents

Perfected flair keeping companies in the black—elegantly formal their wives attack
Each one attired in the colour of grief—sadness and mourning a blackmailed thief
There stands Jack, in a room that is packed—emotionally elusive, cunningly drawn back
Mysterious, powerful negative dirt tracks—black-market malevolence no visible cracks

Observation, lack of confidence to engage—courage imminently pending and upstaged
An edgy apprehensive shrink-back—protection from impulsive reactive, confused attacks
Alarming blackout to opinions of others—ignoring motives of guaranteed buffers
A black sheep just got blacklisted again—anticipation of recurring hurt and pain
