OF WE AND THEY/EVEN US AND THEM! *

In the beginning
We were the architects
Of God’s designed world;
Then came them—
The devastating forces
Of its Garden Of Eden
Decline:-

We were the flowers
And fruits of the Garden;
Then they became
The slithering and coiling
Slime of disobedience
And disrespect:-

We were chosen
To teach cross bearing
With the Bearer thereof;
Then they—save Mark—
Tried to leave out
Our Simon Of Cyrene hue:-

As you read, my children,
Listen to these 83+ years
Old screaming words:
We must know that ourstory here,
Did not begin with their slavery!
They’re just lyingly implicated this,
In their fecal canvassing
Of their diuretic history:-

While we remain
The crucified oppressed,
And they, the crucifiers,
Realize our Ancestors
Ensured that we would be
Today’s resurrected ones;
Overcoming and ascending,
Memorial total liberation:-

Thus, it be between them
And us, in waning oppression
And waxing liberation;
We ascending the mountaintop,
Not as children of Sisyphus,
But, the ebony-hued of the Liberator:-

You are a Simon
Of Cyrene; a supporting
Shoulder of crosses
I bear in this testing life;
You, a laborer of love:-

Premium MemberThe Carrying of the Cross

He carried our sins as He carried the cross.
He walked up to glory through pain and through loss.
He fell many times but got up once again
As He carried our sins.

A man from Cyrene they had pulled from the crowd,
Who wished not to help, who protested aloud.
But in the end took up the cross of our Lord
And carried it forward.

A large crowd of people, women who cried
As they watched the Savior go forward to die.
They followed along, lamented and mourned
For the pain of the Lord.

He took up the cross, was prodded and pulled
On the way to Golgotha, the place of the skull.
Where He would do what He was born to do
For me and for you.

Take up your cross and follow Him.
Die to yourself and be born again.
Take up your cross and follow Him.

They gathered in Jerusalem;
Together, they would pray.
They huddled in the upper room
And waited for the Day.

It happened at the Feast of Weeks,
When Pentecost arrived;
A sound like mighty rushing wind:
The Spirit came alive.

Like fire, it rested on each one:
These men, all humble, meek;
The Spirit gave them utterance,
And they began to speak.

From Phrygia, Pamphylia,
From Egypt and Cyrene:
All were amazed; some were perplexed.
They said, “What does this mean?”

See, some discerned that in their midst
A miracle had sprung,
For though they came from all around,
Each heard in his own tongue.

But others were not ready to
Declare it as divine:
“It seems these rubes from Galilee
Have filled themselves with wine!”

And so, with some, it is today:
The news, with joy, received.
But others just hear foolishness;
Their minds remain deceived.

(from Acts 2)

Misconceived

The surface is truly strange
a facet full of facade
my heart is singing;
a strange chant...
"the words are unclear like mud water"
sinking the ship of a volatile voyage
in the abyss of loneliness
"don't rule with me" the lily cursed
cursed to live with grisly scales of thorny pinches
preach to me the noble words of soothing pity
they call it prayer
a way of saying "go away but don't be mad"
I have carried a cross without Simon of Cyrene
the appearance is pitiful
because of a misconceived analogy
even the pedagogues have failed
don't cry...
t'is a vision for one

My Name Is Simon

I come from Cyrene, my name is Simon ---
Minding my own buisness,
I was forced into labor ---
The soldiers ordered me to assist a condemned man ---
I argued, but the protest fell upon deaf ears ---
So I stated that I, an innocent man,
was being forced to do this deed ---
As I helped this beaten and bloody criminal,
He lost His balance and fell ---
They beat and spat upon Him,
until I cried out for them to stop ---
Finally we arrived at the top of
this lonely and barren hill ---
We dropped the cross upon the ground
and gasped from exhaustion ---
Before the roman soldiers could order me to leave ---
I locked eyes with this convicted man,
who I hesitatingly help ---
His gaze pierced my heart and soul,
which will remain with me forever ---
Walking away from Him, I could hear the
sound of the hammer striking the nails ---
Suddenly I realized this was an innocent Man of God ---
Then silently, within myself I thanked the Lord,
for blessing me with this Holy duty.

His Pure Love

His pure love,
   was shown,
that day
       at calvary.

They didn't
take away Jesus's
life that day
He gave it freely.

A crown of thorns
was placed oh His head,
blood flowed down
His face that day.

He was guilty
of no crime,
only of the
pure love He gave away.

He was mocked
and shamed,
beaten with
so many stipes.

His face was
so bloody that
day at calvary
he tried to carry,

His cross but so
weak to do it,
Simon Cyrene was
compelled to bear
   His cross.

Jesus came into this
world to show,
us His pure love,
now He was to,

really show the
world His pure
love for us, Jesus
was nailed to the,

cross that day,
suffering and dying
for the sins of the
world.

Everyone thought
they had seen the
last of Jesus, but
3 days later, He arosed
    from the dead.

After showing Himself
to over 500 people and
telling His disciples to
spread the gospel,

He was taken up and
a cloud received Him
out of their sight,
and that is what easter
is all about.

BlackandEbonMan

This Poem is taken from my Jesus Central Course Jesus 101.

If you were Mark, writing a short report to demonstrate to a Roman audience that
Jesus (a Jewish man) was "the Son of God", what would you include in that
report? This is Charlax speaking as iff eye am MARK talking to the gentle reader
true:

"We watched as JESUS was crucified he walked with that TREE on his back and
fell dropping it unable to go on in apparent defeat he fell to one knee he was so
strong he was never completely down we thought it was disgrace but there
seems to be a reason now the SYMON one of CYRENE a black ebon man was
found standing in the crowd a broad nose and back the cross was lifted up and
placed upon the ***** back to make the forgiveness of us all complete and color
no barrier to GOD

This is for my black friend at the University Blue and Read for yew.
