Criticizing Poems

Criticizing a Coat

Please, refuse the disguised rag
That wearer still makes a hag.
Be bold to say “No, thank you”
While leaving “Later, see you!

A coat of curious color
That offers the eye pallor,
Long threadbare to soonest sag
And straight goes into a bag….

Delight not in robe you’ve got,
Last wearer had liked it not;
Underneath its arms ink blot
And on its left breast blood clot.

Choose the true wisdom or don’t:
On this talking not a lot;
In ignorance one could rot
While asking A Big Fool’s “What?”

Premium MemberOn Criticizing Others

Rein in those opportunities to criticize
Think of all the good things to be said
Remember to see through others’ eyes.

Or sometimes simply resort to sighs.
In disagreement, merely shake your head
Rein in those opportunities to criticize.

Be a bigger person, even if you must disguise
Displeasures weighing on you heavy as lead,
Remember to see through others’ eyes.

If you announce your woes, it’s seldom wise,
Sometimes they are better not to be read
Rein in those opportunities to criticize!

Is it that you get joy when someone cries?
How easily you could’ve another’s feelings fed
Remember to see through others’ eyes.

For being disagreeable you’ll win no prize,
Hatefulness and sharp words are best unsaid,
Remember to see through others’ eyes,
Rein in those opportunities to criticize.

Premium MemberCriticizing My Stuff

Had to erase the chin, then the left eye.
Right eye looks wrong now.
Erasing it too. Erase. Erase. Erase. Erase.
Why do I always draw so deeply?
I know better, and yet I consistently make this mistake.
Redraw the eye.
Erase the other one.
Redraw both of them.
Shoot.
The right eye was better the first time.
Erase. Erase.
Redraw, redraw, redraw.
Everything is worse now.
Pick up a new canvas and begin again.
This one is too far gone to be saved.

Keep Criticizing Me

Keep telling me I was wrong,
Because you thought you were right.
You believed you were smarter than me,
You thought you were better,
You are dead wrong!
Always trying to make me perfect!
You want me to be your soldier,
And follow your rules!
I won’t follow anymore!
You are not worth it!
You are disgusting!
Hopeless!
And you will always be alone…
Because you never cared!
You never wanted me to be anything!
Just your little toy!
Forget your rules!
Forget you…

Criticizing Teens

This is another age of amazing discovery,
and teens are drown into its magical light
by taking giant steps to keep up with technology;
and yet older folks stare at them with fright.

I won't get angry, or laugh at them and criticize,
but they do certain things that aren't allowed;
parents don't provoke your children to anger, understand...
by giving them space to breath, to think they doing wrong;
weren't we the same rebelling against them by playing that song
too loud and slamming the door and not taking their advice?

Here's my dislikes: teens, put away those iPods for a few hours:
read a good book and watch educational TV programs;
hang out with good friends who don't drink, curse or smoke pot,
and in the long run, you see things in a new prospective and learn a lot!
