Lola lived in the polar regions
A place very cold
Lola wished that she didn't
Now she was getting old
She was fed up with the same weather
At all times
Her thermometer was out of whack
She longed for warmer climes
This was impossible
Feeling like a fool
She confided in her best friend
Who gave her a big bag of wool
She had inherited from someone years ago
Where that someone came from
No-one may ever know
In amongst this wool were needles and a book
With lots of knitting patterns
And a crochet hook
The patterns were simple
There were quite a few
As Lola flipped through the pages
To find the easiest to do
She found a beanie
A beanie is a woollen hat
Concentrating on the pattern
She very soon made that
Lola was delighted
Pulling the beanie over her ears
This was the cosiest she had felt for years
Lola made slippers, followed by gloves
Thanks to her best friend
Who gave the gift of wool with love

OUR HOUSE OUR HOME
All my years I have been a sensitive soul,
But life throws curved balls- things take their toll,
However, if I’m handled with a touch of magic
And kindness,
I look upon this approach as being priceless!
I’m having a hard time adjusting,
I need you to be bursting
With understanding,
For my re-adjusting!
A huge house, built on almost
An acre,
My garden which I tenderly landscaped,
To be left behind, is a true shaker,
To my very core, I prayed to Our Maker
To guide me and hold both my hands,
He always supports me and by me stands,
I hear Him whispering to me,
Be brave, soon it will all come to be!
I suddenly see a vision of my wonderful Dad,
Who has always been my guardian angel,
In life,
During happy times and strife,
And with his dying breath,
Moments before his death,
Said, I could face anything that crossed
My path,
Handle challenges thoughtfully, carefully,
He quietly said, with a token of mirth.
He knew that I would always try my best,
And that God would help me with the rest!
Now settled in the cosiest, cutest of homes,
With A small fairy like garden, brought my
Favorite pots and even our garden gnomes!

The garden of love flourishes
with tender care
Kisses planted as seeds well nourished
By warmth of heart and quenching rain
Proliferate in colourful splendour everywhere
A secret garden where two become one
Under the most glorious summer sun
When blooms unfurl their petals and unfold
To bare their hearts and bare their souls.
The gentle caressing breeze wafts a heady sweet fragrance
So pure so unblemished so rare
A natural opiate that sends lovers to a far off special place
Only they can dwell and together share
A dream
Where mottled colourful butterflies
Dance a delicate ballet
And the birds sing with joy in jubilation
All day.
As the summer sun gently strokes and caresses naked skin
Waves of the warmest cosiest emotions are evoked within
Flowing forever growing from one heart to another
Perpetually feeding the greedy soul with euphoric joy and ecstasy.
From two such hearts seeds are sown
And nourished by love and care they are grown
To bloom in the summer sun
As the cycle of life goes on.

In tidy closets ~
Coats hang peacefully,
Quiet, Muffled happiness,
Beside little shoeboxes,
The cosiest of spaces.
