Our House Our Home

OUR HOUSE OUR HOME

All my years I have been a sensitive soul,
But life throws curved balls- things take their toll,
However, if I’m handled with a touch of magic
And kindness,
I look upon this approach as being priceless!
I’m having a hard time adjusting,
I need you to be bursting
With understanding,
For my re-adjusting!
A huge house, built on almost
An acre,
My garden which I tenderly landscaped,
To be left behind, is a true shaker,
To my very core, I prayed to Our Maker
To guide me and hold both my hands,
He always supports me and by me stands,
I hear Him whispering to me,
Be brave, soon it will all come to be!
I suddenly see a vision of my wonderful Dad,
Who has always been my guardian angel,
In life,
During happy times and strife,
And with his dying breath,
Moments before his death,
Said, I could face anything that crossed
My path,
Handle challenges thoughtfully, carefully,
He quietly said, with a token of mirth.
He knew that I would always try my best,
And that God would help me with the rest!
Now settled in the cosiest, cutest of homes,
With A small fairy like garden, brought my
Favorite pots and even our garden gnomes!

It is where you truly are, that is the very best place. Hugs my dear friend. Flowers and singing bugs at your tea time table. Just to add ambiance to your day. Ann

I am so pleased that you are settled and happy in your new house, Jenny! Some things will need time to get used to, but the most important steps have been taken. May you enjoy many happy days/years in what now is a house that can be called home. Warm regards & Hugs // paul

Hi Paul, Thank-you for your so kind words,, you brought tears to my eyes - we were out yesterday evening, and when we had finished our meal, for the fist time, I said 'shall we go home" did you hear what you said my husband asked me - we were both happy that it came so naturally. Warm regards and hugs, Jenny.

Your home sounds wonderful, Jennifer. And if you submitted into that same contest of long poems as I did, for sure, our poems were equal in length. Lately I am doing a bunch of long ones but they feel more like narratives or prose for me.

- New home can be difficult ... where everything is unknown - I try to see it in front of my eyes ... but difficult - Everything is so different where you live and where I live - My new home will not be finished until spring. ... always something that is delayed - But, spring is a great time to move - We were looking at the house yesterday - Exciting but also a little scary :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Hi Sunshine Smile, we built a house in Pretoria as an investment four years ago and have rented it out. It was then our dream house but was still too big for us so found tenants and did not move in ourselves. We wanted smaller, I have settled where we are and no longer anywhere near as tensed as I was a week ago. A very exciting time when you are building, but also exasperating as the builders and contractors always delay and extend the dead line! Just enjoy every brick they lay my friend, as each one is a moment closer to your new home which I am sure you will love! Hugs and blessings.

I thought i left my harmonious tone behind, I went through such a grieving period, I couldn't even eat but i have settled down, (quite suddenly the last 4 or 5 days.) I think your comment is awesome, I've always said that your comments are as wonderful as your poems. Love you soul sister, Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

it's hard sometimes to leave the memories of a home behind and move to another...a house is a house until you make it a home... love the way you penned this one...a father's guiding hand is always the best... hugs :)
