Lola the Polar Bear
Lola lived in the polar regions
A place very cold
Lola wished that she didn't
Now she was getting old
She was fed up with the same weather
At all times
Her thermometer was out of whack
She longed for warmer climes
This was impossible
Feeling like a fool
She confided in her best friend
Who gave her a big bag of wool
She had inherited from someone years ago
Where that someone came from
No-one may ever know
In amongst this wool were needles and a book
With lots of knitting patterns
And a crochet hook
The patterns were simple
There were quite a few
As Lola flipped through the pages
To find the easiest to do
She found a beanie
A beanie is a woollen hat
Concentrating on the pattern
She very soon made that
Lola was delighted
Pulling the beanie over her ears
This was the cosiest she had felt for years
Lola made slippers, followed by gloves
Thanks to her best friend
Who gave the gift of wool with love
