I must apologize
I became bored with you
knowing what you'd say often
lead me to be with others
It's exactly what you think
and true to form
might you forgive me
that I shall heed Cupids
call might you say you'll be my woman
I must beg the wealthy and poor
to gift you
the humbled companion
I'm your humbled companion
that It stresses me to
find you not wanting me
yet the next day shall begin anew
often
or more so than what anyone could
understand
Could you love me
and be in love with me
so we can be one together
Love and relationships
work and life
a true understanding
trusted in thought
best to believe
could you trust me again
and marry me?

caffeine circles my brain, loaded, laughing. i jolt upright in my sleep…
lessness. the ride through time….woke up in pea-thick fog, drank two
cups, went to church to pray and praise. chomped a burger, fries and
freed some more caffeine from an ice cold cup. worked a Sunday after
jet-lagged Saturday. arrived back home to hugs and laughter,
and the napster who’d snooze before my return. promissory playdough
date kept him rather late. downed a fluffy cup of mud
and set out to take grands home.
a rather wakeful day followed by a restless night…of this i write.
seems i’ll be hitting the snooze button, like a jeopardy contestant.

always felt
like a
contestant
on a game
show
entitled
prove you love me
in which i was
on a quest
trying to win
the grand prize
your heart
felt as if the
show was on
rewind
set on repeat
a never ending
cycle
forever lost in
syndication

I could not miss your boudoir and starve of paradise
Since that day when from Ellis Island I saw you
Your lamp held to guide my ship ... the only disguise
Your brothel nakedness still drew desires to you
And your lips had words like honey running down
They told me I would find you here, freelancing
For the butcher and baker from every where. Town
After town they emptied to follow you here. Dancing
Still on table tops, my heart a quivering palm tree
Stood in pride and jealousy ... do you not ever long
To cast off the slur from the sour littany of pedigree
Can you not for my love sake prove them all wrong?
You are so free, so free, your liberty is killing me
And while you whore with them I sadly pine for thee.
