Premium MemberMiddle of the Night

Middle of the dark night
New moon uncloaks the stars
My wife snores gently in bed
My border collies resting comfortably
The warm night entices me
I stand in the dark yard
The heavens are spread before me
A lone streetlamp glows in the distance
Its ghostly light a small beacon
Yet it does not disturb me

Small little Halle, Molly, and Dolly
full of mischief, puppy collies;
climbing over each other in their folly.
Snarling and growling, around in the yard,
while Reilly the Saint Bernard stands guard.
Reilly rolls onto its back, as they come hard
climbing all over, nipping and licking volley.

Sheep

In place of shells, what Ireland has
Within its seas of green
Are sheep of all varieties,
The sweetest you have seen.

From fat white ewes with nursing lambs
To black-faced local beauties,
They dot the landscape, chomping grass,
The bulk of all their duties.

While riding by, with photo stops,
I gaze at them, delighted
And seeing collies herd them,
I feel gratefully invited

To witness such a time-worn rite
The herders have perfected.
I'm thrilled to be here and my joy
Is more than I expected.

Kids Love For Animals

Kids Love For Animals ( Poem )

Children’s favorite shows are of animals
I have hours in a playlist that are laughable
Like a camera pecking rooster and fun monkeys
To a mom and a baby miniature donkeys

Videos of wild turkeys and charming geese
Ducks in water and chicks learning to speak
Dazzling ostrich and many free birds
Some you would not want to move towards

A large unique animal is the alligator
The total opposite of the caterpillar
Camels and alpacas are tall and exquisite
But they spit at you when you try to visit

There are also hornpout and catfish videos
and a painted box turtle that is really slow
Beautiful miniature horses and elegant ponies
Border collies herding sheep to earn their trophies

Little kids pig scramble is stunning to see
and a little fawn as precious as can be
Cow’s hair that needs braiding is fascinating
With the most assortment you’ve ever seen

Come to my view with me youtube channel
If the kids are being hard to handle
Just start it up and walk away
To get your housework done for the day

Premium MemberThree Dogs

I have three dogs
Iggy, Tilly and Banjo
Banjo is always on the go
And Tilly is a mess
Iggy on the other hand
Seems to be quite blessed

They love to chase lizards
Because sheep we have not
Do lizards come in herds?
Because now I have twenty or so
Cornered under my Ford

The collies wait quite patiently
For one to make a move
And then like tiny lighting bolts
They bust a move
They never hurt the reptiles
But they never sleep

I afraid they will develop
A sleep disorder
If I don’ t give them a break.
So I bought a plastic dinosaur
And I put it on a stick
Now they chase me around the property
Till I am almost sick

But the lizards and the dogs are happy
And that’s what really counts
I can live another day
And drive my car to work
Only to come home to have
Another herd of lizards
Corralled in the dirt

Premium MemberThe Snows of Winter

The snow silently cloaked the land
falling slowly but insistently
creating large drifts against the walls
bigger and bigger get the flakes

A world of white where ever you look
gnashed here and there by trees
sticking up their bare branches
which are now also snow laden

Sheep struggle through the drifts
helped by the shepherd and dogs
fast as a flash the collies mark
until the shepherd digs them out

Still relentlessly the snow falls
roads and trails disappear from sight
I look out over the white landscape
and feel as if I am in the clouds
