Colleen is riding a pipe to Dublin town.
She’s dressed in the greens, wearing a gown.
I wonder if she will ride the pipe to me? Asked a clown.
The rest of us stared at him, one gave him a frown.
The news went through the pub, to everyone around.
Colleen is riding a pipe to Dublin, is she quite sound?
I decided to have more shepherd pie and stick around.
Colleen’s arrival was announced at midnight by a hound.
Of course she would arrive on St. Patrick’s Day!
We surrounded the pipe and whisked Colleen away.
Her face was a map of Ireland, we invited her to stay.
All of us recognizing a lassie who loved to play!
Young Ellen Hanley caught John Scanlon’s eye
He was determined that she’d be his wife
Their marriage was cursed and Ellen would die
On the River Shannon she lost her life.
She was a beauty but of lower class
He belonged to a wealthy family
A few weeks later grew tired of the lass
She was found in Shannon’s estuary.
His servant killed Ellen a girl so young
And from a boat threw her over the side
Both men found guilty and from gallows hung
Her dead body washed ashore with the tide.
In Clare there stands a memorial stone
The Colleen Bawn she is now better known.

Her vacation day
It is here at last
Colleens bags are packed
I hope she has a blast
Off to the coast
For some ocean air
Sparkling waters
Wind blowing her hair
Walk along the beach
Searching for some shells
Sand between her toes
Feeling like Tinkerbell
All of her troubles
Washed out to Sea
Like a Sea Gull
She feels really free
With the sound of waves
Crashing on the shore
Life is much better
Than ever before
The sun on her face
The warm ocean breeze
A moment so perfect
She feels so at ease
She wraps this picture
To hold in her mind
For easy access
When life isn't kind
She'll later unpack
To relive again
Her piece of heaven
To erase life's pain
Dedicated to Colleen
I hope you find a Unicorn to ride or a horse that is realated to one.
Ten years ago,
they began as friends,
appearing to be a gift
that heaven sends.
In the ninth, she felt lonely.
He was pushing her away.
The eighth was the same.
It was driving her astray.
She finally heard the truth,
a few years ago.
It happened seven times,
and he could’ve said no.
It’s been six years,
since their marriage went away.
But she will not ever
forget that day.
He tried five times
to regain her trust,
but she just couldn’t chance
the man’s hidden lust.
She’s found a new friend
after nights of tears.
They’ve been together
for nearly four years.
She’s escaped the life
of three in the scene.
Two that belonged,
and one named Colleen.
