Gaelic Farewell

I say in love farewell.
I shared in love to you,
My thoughts and all my feelings,
Words my dreams outgrew.

I saw your beauty with eyes
That pity a blind man’s fate
For missing your heart’s radiance
That I will never shake.

I speak of twenty Helens,
Props to Marlowe and Poe,
But nothing else can match
The beauty with you I knew.

Closure

I hate being the 'incident' of your story
Hate how you once made my heart beat so fast
Hate how I get a reminder of you
Now we're just strangers that sometimes walk past.

A memory I can't erase
Was getting dull with time
Life was getting back to it's pace
But a trigger by your sight, not my eye's crime.

Applauds to the courage
I didn't feel anything in
Left the road you were taking
Resisting the temptation of a possible sin.

The need of journeying back in time
Where your name stood unknown
As an arrogant, aggressive guy
Was what to me, was shown.

I hate being the one left behind the door
When you were the one knocking it first
Hate the time I spent foolishly
On you, now I just keep eyes on floor.

Seventh: Couple's Passion Missing - Husband Needing Closure

I
am in
her way – our
love lost. She’s free –
yours truly, never again. Heart
broken, dreams denied, lesson learnt…unless…

Closure

My strength slips into darkness.
The dagger that cut my core.
My blood pours over smiles.
Laughter caught in the deception.
Great is the hole left in me.
Sorrow the only constant.
You leave emptiness behind.
Thank you for closure.
Nothing binds me to you.
You died in my blood.

Closure

Awake again, 2AM
Try to lay but my mind won’t shut down.
Feelings of empty, you on my mind
My heart can’t seem to find
A safe place to hide.
I left it all on the table,
After you there wasn’t much left.
Nothing there to give, I gave all I had
Wishing you’d be what I get.
You found another, you’re leaving
I can’t catch a break,
barely breathing.
I meant what I said
I said what I meant.
My love, my love, my love
For you, was well spent.

Closure

Where once I could only taste
Sweet as sweetness should be,
Now there is only but
A sense of hostility
Towards me.
Perhaps you should but could not;
I say, “please, ” but you would not

Say goodbye.

Now you say it is not over
And that I should wait;
So I do so,
But is it in vain?
Like in slow motion,
Falling in mid-air,
Faster and faster;
Till the ground meets me
And my body shatters and breaks.

It’s been so long since I last saw you,
My heart is now cramping in ache;
But the ground has not yet met me,
So as you say so,
Here I lie and wait.

I miss you,
And shall keep missing you,
Till the time comes
When I will miss
Missing you.

The 'Act' of Closure

Your feigned affection closes the conversation
I've never lied so hard in all my life
Relief replaced by fierce frustration
I envy that you know you'll sleep tonight

Did I do ok? Say all the right things?
Now do you believe me more than last time?
I could never change how I'm wired, how I think
But you see no harm in leaving this behind

Seems you were right when you made me move on
Not one part of you was roused to fight
The faintest glimmer of hope that you were wrong
Has lost it's last shimmer of light

In Search of Closure

Seeking closure
A happy ending
To the things I've done
For the things I've said
It's time to put to bed
The guilt throbbing in my head

Finding it hard to sleep at night
Maybe it's the mattress
Maybe it's my conscious
Refusing me peace of mind
Urging me to be kind
To push rewind
To examine the life I've lived

Computing emotions memories evoke
Regretting who I've become & what I've done
My tongue is a viper full of poison
My deeds are shameful & destructive
Lives in ruins lie in my wake
Savaging for closure
Like a man lost in a desert, in need of water.

Closure To Rest

Give me some time to let this love go,
To rid all the pain,
OH how it grows,
You’ve changed me forever,
I’ll never forget,
Your words of advice,
I gave much respect,
You helping me change,
And how not to forget,
I give all my thanks,
With no regrets
Of how much I cared
Don’t ever forget
How strong my love was
Too strong for you yet
 Forever my love
And forever was it meant
Until you said never
So nevers what you'll get
Yet forever in my heart
Is where this love sits
As I feel like im stuck in a bottomless pit
Stuck am I not
Just in a big mess
These feelings they kill
I just don’t want the stress
Of this love that’s so strong
I now put it to rest
To rid all my fears
Stuck inside of my chest
Its closure I need
In order to rest
I have now gotten it all
Off of my chest
Thanks for your time
And for holding your breath
Now you should know of this love in my chest

Closure

Alert in his chair
With his walker at hand
Deaf and lost in fine words without end
He’s surrounded by poets long dead
In walls full of shelves full of books full of lines he’s all read
Sitting in silence with all his old friends
Reliving his life in his head
Close to a hundred and sharp as a tack
His memories fonder each day
He measures the moments and uses them well
Carefully as is his way
Keeping his company under the spell
Of a poetry reading gourmet
As a writer I’m glad I met Ray
