The Path Less Traveled - Variation of a Frost Poem

Two loves had I, a careless youth
And sorry I could not love them both.
One I loved more, which is the truth.
The fair one, beautiful yet uncouth.
The other dared not swear her troth.

I chose the younger, as just as fair,
And as such perhaps I was to blame
For a mystery she would not share.
Though as for that my being there
Had judged them equally about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In my bed; my loving claque
Although I loved the first, the second stayed
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if she would ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two hearts converged in my bed, and I—
I took the one less experienced,
And that has made all the difference.

Premium Member Epitaph of a Wandering Soul

Throughout eons she contrives
to casting seeds and see what thrives
as she has done for countless lives.
Experimental.

Traveling through time and space
on cresting waves of light and grace
to be here in this time and place
of great potential.

By the trauma of rebirth,
and crashing on this spinning earth
to walk a path of woe and mirth.
Experiential.

To the beat of her own drum;
to laugh, and love, and overcome;
to act in ways both wise and dumb,
and unprovincial.

Tending to transplanted souls,
traversing over burning coals,
to wet her feet on earthly shoals.
Developmental.

Until her own angelic claque
blasts their trumpets ‘til they crack,
to guide her home; to call her back,
as transcendental.

The British Gingah

I have this friend you see
He lives across the Atlantic Sea
Somewhere in England
Over grass, and mountains, and sand

He visits this country I call home
At camp, with open land to roam
We-my best friend and I-walk up to him to say hi
And he jumps right into conversation, not the least bit shy

For the next ten days we all hang together
Other friends we hung with too, but mainly the British ginger
So hilarious and animated, his “woo” sounding like a dying cat on crack
Eventually we started pretending to be his claque

Laughter rings about even though the end of the camp is near
We all enjoyed the time that we’ve spent here
We smile and say our goodbyes until the next year
When we all meet up again, right here
