Circle up chums
My five-minute friends
Let serene quips
Raucous banter
And sudsy bellows
Ooze from every plank
Stable and knotted enough
To absorb the welts below
Testimony joins the fun
Sworn in by tongues
Worth of beggar truth
Slapped with blackened humor
Salted to retard the melt
In favor of icy declaration
Some conjure regimes
From ancient repression
Or schooled outside the core
To relinquish victory
Unattainable and undeterred
For degradation spawned
From amusement's render
Because nocturnal chatter
Logs off the clock
To join the mythic lore.

While we humans are living in fear,
those sweet cats and the dogs we hold dear
get added attention
since we’re in detention.
Pets are thrilled that Corona is here!
Our societies came to a crawl,
but the creatures are having a ball.
Gators saunter to stores.
Monkeys, goats, and wild boars
running free aren’t so dumb after all!

An avid scrabble player, I can see two or three words
Simultaneously now.
I see mthabta and think bathmat.
I have received best game of the week
For three years worth of weeks.
I do not say this as a brag.
My point is that I like word games.
WoKn TWha I mean?
If I could quit competing I would, but there is this
competition maniac inside me that will not let me stop.
Mmtyxad excites me because it has big-point letters.
Q and J are both worth ten points as is Z
But if it is toward the end of a game you will
probably be stuck with them.
Although ZA and JO and QI are scrabble words.
I am excited by the strategies I can use too.
I have not played hundreds of word games.
I have not played thousands of word games.
I have played tens of thousands of word games.
Online within the last four years. Bbtedqs.
Just one of my little compulsions.

Twiddle de twiddle dum
That’s how it is with me and my rum
Called a friend to join the fun
He turned out to be a bum
So it remains with me and my rum
Twiddle de twiddle dum

I don’t understand the past tense.
Why is it that fight is fought?
And catch is caught when liked for like is right.
And what about sighted is that a past tense of sight?
The list is endless, and I spent hours amazed by all of it.
It was worse than a stinky sweaty work-out so I sweated!
Notice the t is pronounced so it’s Ted not “Ed” at the end of it.
But Ted and Ed sometimes have a rest when “En,” “O” and “A” led.
Yes, they led well, so that steal is not stealed but stolen or stole,
Then the A appeared when run is ran not runned.
The O was the big boy with write when he trumped wrote over writed.
I’m tired of this mess, so I’ll just let my ESL teacher do the word roll.
