Never Made Dinner

It's a tale of a hero
And his sale as zero
He held his hopes in the morning
And end in the blend of the moaning

He had hopes of a champion
He used the strength of a stallion
His toiling visible to the drudging hoes
His endurance praised by friends and foes

In the dusk aroused a villain
Who licked and sapped his sweat's rain
He fought the adverse head chivalrously
But the villian broke dinner's neck vivaciously

I wished in Israel is still a Seer
Who could tell a man he wouldn't make dinner

There Is Nothing Chivalrous About a Sniper

There is nothing chivalrous about a sniper.

In days of yore, when the rain did pour;
Inside an inn, they spoke of was and when.
Even then their present was defined by their history,
As they prepared to march off to war again.

With muddied boots, we stomp on those which we call our enemy.
With feasts of meat and ale and fruit, we happily fill our bellies.
We raise the roof with our own self-importance.
We sing of past deeds and of how the battles were won.
Where we once used swords so chivalrously,
Now we fight each other using any surreptitious means;
Instead of swords, now we use guns.

Will we ever learn to end these battles
We insist on having with our fellow humans?
We are righteous in our reasoning, never mind the consequences.
If I am stood before God and He asks me to defend humanity;
Humanity shall stand alone; indefensible and defenceless.

Country Dance

“Come,” she said; “tell me lies,
Too many truths suck the air dry!
Let's be merry and dance to the tune
Of the country orchestra under the moon.”

Oh, how Renoir could capture the scene,
Of love’s blossoming delicacy, with an enduring smile.
So chivalrously romantic: He in his manly attire,
And she, in a calico print dress, embraced in the arms
Of her charming suitor (strong and confident).

Oh, to be young and gay (they light on their feet).
He twirls her around as her eyes gaze off into the night
and his chapeau flings off his head to the gazebo’s deck
(stealing the lady’s heart away) while the audience watches.

I Do

I have always dreamt of a day
A day filled with blissful memories
Entrenched in the hallowed walls
Well-knit in my heart of hearts

The day a prince stole my heart
To keep in his cherished heart-vault
I will blow the fanfare with loud trumpets
Tell the timeless tales to my children
On how he chivalrously won my heart
Captivatingly serenading my beauty

What a day glued to my memory
When he swept me off my feet *proposally*
Among cherished friends and loved ones
Who witnessed the grandstand

A real prince indeed
Fulfilling my knight in shining armour tales
The captivating nature of his nectar- sting
Was sanely unrejectable

Love beyond measure is all I crave
The happiness I have always envisaged
Alas I woke from it all
Only to discover it all being a dream
A pigment of my imaginations

Crossroads

As many times as I've tried to forget you, I've failed the mission. As many times as I've
cried on those lonely nights without you, you go untouched by our division. Incision. a
knife to the heart, as you pass me by without a blink of an eye or a glance in my
direction. Yet you chivalrously show concern. Confusion burns. my vision's blurred as my
mind screams what do you really want from me?! Words intact by the tongue. Afraid to be
bestowed upon your ears. Will I ever get through to you? Will you ever open up to me? by
revealing your true feelings, no longer claimed as mystery. All I ask of you is to remove
your clouds from my sunny sky, Thus I may fly toward an indubitable direction.
