September 21 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Joel 1-3
Key Verse – Joel 1:19 O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR HEARING OUR CRY
Praise be to God for hearing our cry of:
Faith to flourish by His faithfulness
Fervency for His fruitfulness-fulfillment
Flight toward His freedom against futility
Fight against fear by His force midst fatigue
Faults along His forgiveness to flee from frustration
Joel 2:13 Praise be to the Lord being gracious
and merciful, always:
Securing our salvation-settlement
Sanctifying us from selfishness-strife
Sufficing us with His satisfaction-supply
Strengthening us by His Scripture-statutes
Stabilizing us for steadfast service-stewardship
Joel 3:16 Praise be to the Saviour for
He is our hope against:
Catastrophes causing to us crises
Curses clinging to our chastisements
Conflicts contending with our cravings
Clamors creeping against our contentment
Calamities creating our cries for His compassion. Amen!

Of infinity
there is much left unsaid,
unfathomable it is to think
of a last frontier for the
purest tongue there is.
Would it not be then,
the limit to our invincible minds,
that search for God inside atoms
and far into the cosmos
but seldom within?
Would it not be a defeat
of pure, sterile science
to uncover a number past which
there is nothing, nowhere,
nobody, none?
To dismiss it outright
sounds unsportsmanlike,
and yet few aim to decipher the
taunting grin of mathematics,
few brave her chastisements.
And so it is now, that
practical minds honor it
with Hebrew letters, and
like God, leave it unfathomed,
but are ever reminded that
it is us that are small in scale
and therefore, irrelevant,
and that beyond us, far beyond,
lies something immense,
bigger than our minds themselves.

Discipline toward
functional goodness…
That’s kindness
bereft of self-praise
done for God’s honour!
Profitable*
are chastisements
leading to great
transformation.
Here am I…
…yielding to
corrections.
Lord, now
I stay…
Checked!
*Titus 3:8 …They which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Magnificent grace of the Almighty
awesomely, gloriously iridescent
supplying bounty's abundance
enriching my soul, sufficing my spirit
with divine wealth eternal.
Loving kindness from the Sovereign
assures bliss-filled peace
subduing carnal yearnings
despite chastisements, never torturous
enabling my service-fruition of faith-ascent.
*2Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

When fretting midst pain, hopelessly anxious
Doubt-stricken, spiritually unconscious…
I admit my sin-caused infirmities
Forgetting God so awesomely gracious.
When incurring well-deserved chastisements
Because of futile, worldly entanglements…
I confess my prayerlessness’ status
Neglecting the Lord’s mighty involvements.
When wavering with weariness-attacks
Obviously triggered by arrogance-knacks
I yield my soul to the great Redeemer
Cleaving to Him Whose mercy* never lacks.
*Psalm 69:13 …O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

Sufficient should be grace
And grace be sufficient
For the haste and pace
Of our harsh judgments
Increases chastisements we could face
Where past deeds can be future predicaments
Conversations can be warm
Same time be fires
Other times brewing storms
And at best be soothing lyres
As their discipline forms
And ethic to ethic they sire
One could be right
And another wrong
One with good sight
And another sturdy and strong
But light and might
Will crush our plight as we forge along
