The sea waves live- both fast and slow;
they gallop high, then tiptoe low,
                                                    _by Poet

There's nothing quite as moving as the sea
that takes my breath away with mystic bliss;
the strength of waves that move with majesty
as white-caps froth and roll with no resists.

With deepest roar, they crash upon the shore
and then change course in rolling back that force.
Their rhythm never fails as they implore
that circling motion fed by endless source.

Astounding is the power that never ends;
though tides with shifting boundaries contend,
for as the Moon, with push and pull amends-
the highs and lows retract and then extend.

Majestic sea, I feel your mighty drive
which leaves me breathless as I walk the sand.
No force on earth can change your will to thrive!
Oh, gift for life, I honor your command.

How I Understand My Woman

The river stays alone
I can live alone
I can understand a woman
If she doesn't understand me
I don't go there
That's the reason I know
Women are like rivers
Change course when flows is strong
Silent when river calm
But deeply moving inside
A little touch from her sensitive
A little sweet talk moment
Serving her a cup of tea when tired
A smile when she's appreciated
Makes her day a surprisingly approved.

Beautiful Change

Change is scary
Especially the first act
It's fearsome, agonizing
Provoking and unacceptable
But, it is necessary for change course
Of life, perspective and hope desired result.

Change is growth
A continuous process
A level-up stage for achievement
A necessity for happiness
A wholesome recovery of truth in strife
For newness of life, maturity and new discovery.

Arm Hair

I am a girl with densely haired arms.
In school, classmates would exclaim upon seeing my arms,
"Oh my gosh, how can you have so much hair on your arms!"
"Kiwi girl! Haha"
I looked at my own arms, then at the arms of other girls.
Their arms were smooth and bright,
While mine were like unpeeled yam sticks.
Fine, dense hairs scattered in every direction,
A gust of wind could even make them change course.
I gently brushed my left arm with my right hand,
Though not touching the skin,
I startled the little hairs,
Feeling a tickle.
So I raised my arm to observe it against the window.
Hey—they're like little grasses growing freely on a hillside,
Some long, some short, swaying in the sunlight.
I think I'm starting to like my arm hair a little.

Calm

Set aside all my worries and fears,
Calm my heart and to your beat.
Keep me from thinking I’m all alone,
No one accomplishes anything alone.

Remind me of my accomplishments,
I’ve succeeded in so many areas of life.
I pressure myself to get it right alone,
Polar opposite of the actual truth.

Help me to remain calm and trust,
I have faith in your power and grace.
I’m leaning into Philippians 4:6-7,
Trusting that you will guard my heart.

If I stay focused on the task in front,
And don’t stress about my desires.
It will not be too late,
To change course and renew my mind.

Premium MemberFailed Wishes

The yearly line I chose to change course
is a self-afflicted wound
that bleeds each day, as I travel
the universe that spins in darkness
on its journey through the blackness of space
a second, a year, does not matter
if finding a reason to nurture my soul
comes once a year, in the form of wishes
to be met that are useless
where reason is held far beyond
   the time I measure
in the lineal thread of changing light
until I measure a new year
where the seed of failure is planted once again

Premium MemberA Prisoner of Life

We see a "prisoner's" despair
With vacant eyes that blankly stare.
He's lived his life from day-to-day
And lost perspective on the way.

He wanders through days that repeat,
Sent spiritless on trudging feet
And settles into drab routine -
No spark to his life can be seen.

He needs to open his eyes wide,
Reform his outlook and decide
To change direction and change course -
To leave the past without remorse.

But, if change comes, it must be soon,
The stage has long been set for whom
Too many habits linger still -
Ingrained, refined and honed with skill.

A change of thinking must ensue,
His attitude he must renew
To reconnect - a true rebirth -
His self-esteem must tout his worth.

While yes, it surely can be done,
The coming battle's far from won.
Now, time will tell which way he'll go -
To change his life or leave it so.

Premium MemberTime

Time has wrapped its arms around the universe
Where distances are measured by the speed of light
It holds our mortal frames for a short while
    Then releases us to eternity
Sometimes you will have no time to lose
Or you may have nothing but time
History is a journey back in time
To teach us not to make the same mistakes
Yet we seemed to have missed the lessons
Are we speeding to our destruction?
Or will we change course to avoid disaster....
    Only time will tell

Premium MemberCome Back Soon

A morning bouquet of new poetry
Sweet precious bluebird for your eyes to see
I hope that the path of your flight yesterday
Didn't change course with me in any way
I waited and waited for your bid goodnight
Then finally gave up and turned out the light
Curled up in my chair staring into the black
I hope today bluebird that you're coming back

Premium MemberTree of Life

one more revolution completed
another birthday
an ongoing process of ageing
sometimes with grace
at others with weight on my shoulders

minding the gap
between emotions and reason
tearing at what needs to be
occasionally becoming one with myself
a milestone although I prefer
to think metric
simply because shorter steps
are easier to take to reach
one target or so at the time
many of them unplanned
but the intention keeps me at bay

where the ship can anchor
sails can be set
the rudder is mobile
flares shoot up and down

maps are charted and lost
the compass magnetic whatever it takes
graphs and outlines drawn in pencil
because charcoal resists the rain
although smudges are beautiful
and it takes an eraser
to change course
and master the waves
whose tides are present eve
when the surface feels flat

like a cork from a bottle
I bob up and down
float swallow and drift
as a small fleck in the Universe

what matters is the path
from sadness to joy
sorrow to contentment
grief to elation
around in circles of impermanence
perspective growth and
my lover’s gentle caress

I ponder and ask myself Why did I not become a writer.
The career path that I chose involved much more speaking than writing.

I have always wished that my voice tone was much baser than tenor.
Being a shy kid, I never thought that I would be a speaker.

I often think about Frost's 'Road Not Taken'-the difference it made.
Life happens, roads often get blocked, and the river will change course.

Life will also give us lemons, forcing us to make lemonade.
Sometimes up becomes down, people change, and things are turned around.

confusion abounds

 &embrace

with countenance

Premium MemberLove Can Shift- Contest

Love is such a strong force,
it can give one a desire to live and become
a life source

Or it can shift,
It can also change course; turn numb
so swift

Now hate
is the outcome;
fate

Love is such a strong force,
It can also change course, turn numb;
fate

Truth Be Told

Truth be told,
Wise words used appropriately
Given down through the ages
Speak of truth, knowledge and wisdom.
Just like light shining through
Beveled glass reveals the
True colors of the prism,
So too will be the truth we see
When we heed the words
Of He who has Risen.

Reality checks and balances
Sarcastic speech
From mouths of fools
Who only seek to degrade
And destroy all that is good.
Putting pieces in their places
Wiping smugness from
Self-righteous faces.
Truth be told,
Mindsets need changing
Lives need rearranging
Morals and values need
Reassessment to avoid
Total conflict and resentment
Amongst one another.

Narrow is the lit pathway
With guidelines to follow but
To change course will lead to
A broader path of uncertainty.
Yet all in all one thing remains
The only way to the truth
Is through the light.
If you don’t want to be left
You have to get right.
Truth be told.

Earning Happiness

"The content of our lives,
Is where happiness is derived

With the quality of the events,
Determining our contentment

Or unhappiness if that’s the case,
For any disappointment we’ve faced

Or a dream that burst,
Maybe someone else came in first

How we repair that which was broken,
Says more than words that are spoken

Easy to make an excuse,
Some people are so profuse

Pointing fingers,
That resentment lingers

Better to be resigned and accept,
What are your next steps

To improve,
Or choose

A path to find your success,
Around all of this duress

Because your desire to change course,
Is driven by an inner force

That pulls you up when down,
And wills you to “fight” another round

It is called strength,
Which our happiness is linked

With motivation to acquire,
Priorities we desire

So today choose your course,
Towards happiness and it’s source"
