Special Wish

The golden days have passed,
But the sweet memories remain,
Today I think of them,
As it is a special day again.
On your birthday, dearest brother,
I wish to tell you,
Something – that’s very true,
You are my first child, who made me a mother!

We have always been together,
In school and everywhere,
We have done ‘n’ number of things,
Dancing, playing and fighting,
There existed a competition between us,
I know sometimes I created a fuss!
You won always,
In cards and video games.
‘Guess what?’ was our favourite,
You always tried to answer it right.
When in our cousins you outstood,
I felt so very proud.

I admit I was strict,
While teaching you I would shout,
But my motto was to bring, the best out.
The times you ask, “ Didi, give me money”,
Believe me I feel so rich, when I have any.
Something that hurts you,
Gives me pain too.
My love for you will always grow,
Though sometimes I may not show,
Remember brother, my anger is my care,
I pray to Lord to give you the happiness of my share.

I Am a Brother

I wake up knowing I am loathed hated and despised,
I go to bed knowing I am loved protected and thoroughly constructively criticized,
We fight and argue as if to death while screaming what we never mean,
Our laughs together never end and all whilst we silently agree to reconvene,
Your statuesque demeanor only holds envy for my isolated unique suffering,
So social you glide above me with such ease as your unconditional love is gently smothering,
Oh mortal jealousy clasping as chains around my ankles like I am its slave,
I never forget to get under your skin or agitate your every nerve 'til you beg to be saved,
Yet first and foremost in your mind you look out for me and I for you as told by father
and mother,
I glimmer with hope and swell with pride just when you call me "Brother".

Stupid Winds

Don't call me you stupid winds
for I will not answer
I am not one of your men,
who you shelter in your negligence,
and nurture with your ignorance,
Don't try to stick to me
when all I want is a distance far away,
where were you when I pleaded
and looked for your approval everywhere?
Why didn't you save me
when like a beggar I cried in dismay?
How can you then try to back me now?
When I need you no more,
when I seek you no more,
How could you stop me from dismissing you?
When I hear you no more or pray
for your nod to my dreams gone astray.
You must let me go now,
far from stupid winds,
Should you need to see me again,
you must dwell into your memories,
for that's where I will reside,
even if you call me a thousand times.

Only Human

When you left
felt like my leg
up and sailed away,
left the rest of me here to stay.

Felt like my wings
had been clipped,
all I could do was wish
you'd remember what you left.

But I stood up
and toughened up
and stared 'lost and abandoned'
down til I won
and learned what
strength was.

My very own leg caught me when I was about to fall,
turns out I hadn't lost it to you after all.

My very own wings flew me out of harms reach
and I've got no one to thank but me.

But thank you, thank you.
You were the one to teach
me that who I need the most should be me.

Sometimes, I'm aware, my legs and wings go weak
and all I need is you next to me.
That's ok, yeah that's ok.
I'm only human and I love you.
I'm only human and I love you

Premium Member My Big Brother Taught Me

Before I could walk, he took me by the hand,
encouraged my steps and watched me land.
I was his brother he would never possess,
with long blond curls and a frilly dress.

He taught me to climb trees as soon as I could run,
took me frog hunting and to shoot a gun.
Took me to the barn loft to jump in hay,
always taught me to have fun everyday.

As we both age in years, he teaches me,
whether or not he knows how much I see.
I recall the songs his voice use to sing,
the smiles of happiness he use to bring.

Divided by miles he still teaches me,
for the love he shows is his guarantee.

Brotherhood

Without you, I would not have been able to live life
With you, I was able to learn love
My ability to forgive in you I found
Ayogoke, having a brother so true as you
Your role in planning with me in
My sojourn on earth is unforgettable.

You thought me all about responsibility,
Being responsible for myself and for others too
And standing on my feet, true to that which I am committed to
Ayoyinka, having a brother so true as you
Your role in encouraging me in
My sojourn on earth is unforgettable.

You gave me hope for tomorrow
In the midst of the thick darkness
The unknown rays of light you gave paved the way
Ayogoke, having a brother so true as you
Your role in those little push you gave in
My sojourn on earth is unforgettable.

You are the reason I am this bold and daring
When no one believed in my dreams
You made me understood the greater task ahead of me
Ayoyinka, having a brother so true as you
Your role in hope giving with your beautiful smile in
My sojourn on earth is unforgettable.

How Can That Be My Brother

Is that my brother i lived with for most of my childhood,
The teenager who used to sing songs to me,
Rock me to sleep,
Tickel my toes to make me giggle,

How can that be my brother,
Tall and handsome,
Perminanet drawing on his carves,
Nice stylish fashion sense WICKED !

All grown up,
Moved on being sensible,
Having got yourself a job and a house,
What a wonderful antonishing young man we have,

Martin

His poison smile makes me want my own death
madness runs through my veins with his every breath
I house a stream of anxiety unending
I cry out but hear only his words, condescending
I pray to a god that I don't believe in
don't keep me alive if you have no reason.

My Brother..

My Brother is so annoying
My Brother is so sad
My Brother drives me crazy
it makes me wanna go mad.

My Brother makes my father constantly yell
My Brother makes my mother cry
My Brother makes me wanna go die, sometimes...

My Brother is crazy
My Brother is nuts
Sometimes I want to grab him and choke him til' he goes nuts

Someday I won't have my brother
and I wish that day will never come

because surely without him
I will nor be the same

My Brother

My brother, where are you,
can you see the light of day?
Youve done your job, fought the fight,
Why do you stay away?

My brother, what are you,
A monster you've become.
Peices of you are all thats left,
but thats luckier still than some.

My brother, why are you,
so bent on your demise?
A demon borne of angelic wings,
Can none see through your disguise?

My brother, what are you,
seeing with your eyes?
Can you hear me call you,
my shaky broken cries?

My brother, where are you,
Why have you left me here alone?
Here i will wait for you,
Always waiting for you to come.

Premium Member Brother Jesse

Brother Jesse I never knew you
Gone before I was born
So young to perish
Your memory my family cherish
But nothing but wonder for me

If you had lived and been my big brother
Would I be a better man today?
To have a big bro to teach me
To show me to tease me to bully me to play
To help me grow in his shadow
And be my friend my blood my foe
I'll never know the pain of your loss
It is something I can not share
Something only others of my family
So quietly hold so dear

You were the unspoken boy
Never was your name mention
Your pictures placed in the back
Your memory faded
But somehow I knew they loved you
Son and brother
Just four or five when you died
Then a year or two later
I was born without my big brother

Brother Jesse do you look down from Heaven?
Do you know your baby brother?
Are you in my life without being here?
Big brother I've never been able to tell you
Brother Jesse I miss and love you to

Thank You

Two and a half years sit betweens us,
Looking back seemed like we always would fight and fuss.
Now we have a bond stronger than no other,
I feel honored to be called your one and only brother.
Even though we get along, we don’t always see eye to eye,
I feel like I need to protect you from every guy.
It’s just because I know how most guys are,
For you there’s no guy that’ll ever be up to par.
I miss hangin with you in our room,
Talkin about how we’ll both be out of this house soon.
Your time to leave already came,
In less than a year I’ll be doing the same.
But till then we’ll only see each other every once and a while,
And I know if I ever need to talk, your number I can dial.
I wanna thank your for being a shoulder for me to lean on,
Thank you for making me feel like I belong.
Last but not least, I wanna thank you for being you,
Just know I’ll always be here for you to.

Non-Social

When you talked to me Fireworks went off
As my brother you should know
That from every too to fro the light is sure to go
Love is so confusing to me
But you make me believe
Pushing and pulling from every direction
Makes you see more perfection
Caring and seeing the love that is real
I just wanted to let you know
How I truely feel
