Respect

The world is a cruel place,
That needs much respect,
As bad things can happen,
When you would least expect,
It comes as a shock,
Like a bolt out the blue,
Your life spirals down,
And what's left is on you,
To pick up the pieces,
And somehow connect,
The pieces together,
Your new self respect.

Buttery Corn Puffs are made up in heaven
Delicious and such melt in your mouth fun
I'm not really addicted I can stop any time
If I'm held back at the point of a gun

Each night I bolt out of my bed screaming
“Where did you hide my Buttery Corn Puffs”
It's one of the few pleasures I have left in life
They'll soon have to take me away in cuffs

I dream of floating way up high on a cloud
Looking down on a soft yellow landscape
Corn Puffs stretching from horizon to horizon
With fairies and me wearing lampshades

Such a happy scenario of joy and frivolity
Those yellow Buttery Corn Puffs do evoke
To feel the great joy and total contentment
Before that final sad moment when I croak

If Buttery Corn Puffs are made up in heaven
I'll cross over to that great unknown
Totally surrounded from horizon to horizon
Much better than a land of buttered scones

Did You Hear the Anguished Cry

Did you hear the anguished cry
A call unanswered as you went by
Can you bolt out on the sound
As the cry reverberates around

For you may have struggles of your own
And to you unable to find your track unknown
But others may need your now
Buck up and take the lead you know how.

Temporary Or Permanent

So much to say and no one to say it to
Well that’s not entirely true
You just don’t want me to

You have the strength of Hercules
Yet use it to hurt those close to you

You have the judgement of God
yet use it to push people away

Quick to assume
Slow to reason

like a lightning bolt out of hell
You are unpredictable
and shocking

You are Rocky Balboa
Picking fights with everyone
see who goes
Or see who stays

You are my best friend
and my worst enemy

For now we’ll lay this to rest
I’ll speak with you again

Hopefully soon
Maybe never

You hold a grudge
but do I deserve it

You have the judgement of God
So let’s see how the scales turn

The Persistent Quest

The Persistent Quest

I've been searching and searching
 for something I had lost
And I vowed to keep on looking,
 regardless of the cost

 I'd climb the highest mountain,
And I'd sail the ocean blue
I would roam all through the
forest, if my dream would just come true

I'd walk out by the wayside, and I'd look both up and down
Thinking if perhaps I'd listen, I might even hear a sound
I thought that I would give up
and go on the way things are,

 Or keep forever searching,
whether it be near or far
 Finally something struck me like
a bolt out of the blue

I found what I was searching for,
 and that something was you

Two Faced God

Asclepius is staring at the beam of a balance,
heart on pan and gold bars opposite

the heart is pastel gray the gold is glittering
the heart not beating the gold glaring blinding the eyes

he ponders which one to keep in order to satisfy his desire
as well as to honor the Olympians: just keep the heart to satiate
Hades by adding one more straying soul to populate the netherworld
and Hera to bring one new life to make the earth younger and more vigorous

but, since he is a medicine god who’s priority is to lessen pain,
comfort grieving hearts and cures diseases, he decides to repair
the heart, his delicate handiwork and magic-touch resuscitate
the heart and make it beat again. Each time the heart beats,
it gets heavier and thereby the beam tilts to side, the gold bars slide
to the heavier side and fall from the pan.

In a moment of bewilderment, Asclepius grabs the gold bars dropping
the resuscitated heart that is, now, beating and pumping air, and in that moment, Alas! a bolt out of the blue struck him and the gold bars in his hand turn to dust.

It Is My Tutelage

Sorry,if I looked ungrateful
And my attitude makes friendship stinks like rotten eggs;
Sorry if I am afar from our poetic accord,
It is not just me, it is my tutelage.

All a while I am a pupil
In another Land and different tongue
The Land I must know,the tongue I must speak;
I am a man-baby learning to walk
Pardon my fall when my feet slip.

Upon my shoulders lies now a new task
That promises to give me wings and takes me beyond the sky
Yet my elevator speaks in tongue and gives me rules:
Brace up or bolt out; the choice is yours.

So when I fail to pat your back for your crowing quil
Or congratulate you on the medal we jointly treasure
Worse still, acknowledge not your warming greetings
Remember this and pardon my fall when my feet slip:
It is not just me,it is my tutelage.

Malaise

Calm and collected,
relaxed and non affected,
bang, like a bolt out of the blue,
no, not you??
bellowing,
acid tongue,
for goodness sake,
SHOULD BE HUNG!!!
