Idle Eyes

Idle Eyes

How this became as I fought for my causes to hold you in my arms
Shut out is like shut up without an argument without a drink
Every bit of bad is worth a thousand goods
That imperfect fluff etched into my soul
Expectations with no chance of exhilaration
Thoughts of what would have been gave way to an old wise man I battle
The balance of justice and friendly talk
Now, finding the unlit cave dark and foreboding, expectations without life
I taste the apples sweet when I settle to gaze into the vastness of your eyes
In the end , to be close to somewhere that is where it should have begun
Beguiled to the point of abstractness
An illusion of your hand to balance the added weight of my heavy heart
You had me at honey, for the rest of my life
Our closeness proved merit for my love, but no one would hear of it
I felt great crush surrender to an enemy
That a lesson apparently repeated through life
This enemy incapacitated my free will .and to that end I feel closer
But further away from the truth in my soul

A Glasgow Blow-Up

Six blocks of flats were detonated yesterday in Glasgow,
But only four fell down and tumbled to the ground:
The Red Road tower blocks, once the tallest in Europe,
Were the place where 5000 lived without a sound.

Five were to be demolished as part of the Opening Ceremony,
Of the 2014 Commonwealth Games,
But the real living worth and sentimental value of the homes,
Prevented the Council from airing their redevelopment aims.

The Glasgow Housing Association had to be sensitive,
To what the development and building of new flats meant,
That many would have to be evicted and relocated,
From the homes in which they relaxed and dreamt.

So now, in October 2015, the Association cleared the area,
For a more private demolition to take place without television,
But only two-thirds of the job was done as two flats still teetered,
So there’s an independent review with a look rather beleaguered.

One kiss and she blew away

The Soundgarden: Blow Up the Outside World Acrostic-Italian Sonnet

Though I have fallen to the end,
Hell on earth can not break, nor kill,
Even the weak part of my will,
Since my will will not break nor bend.
Others tried to act like my friends,
Until asked to pick up the bill,
Not willing, nor able, to fill
Desired roles that help and mend.
Giving everything I gave,
Allowed you to take what I own.
Roads to the underworld were paved,
Destroying the hope that was shown.
Eternity will not have slaves;
Not until the outside is blown.

Premium MemberPlastic Ono Blow-Up Universal Church of Togetherness

This is an unusual write for me
'cause the title came first.
We shall see where it goes.

Blows
is a loaded word ifya think on it.

Having thought some
it goes
that without blows
there'd be no

us

or them

or me or you blowing whatever clarity
we can get, whether through charity
hilarity
or long-haired hippy freak bed-ins

to realize the thing we've named
purpose.
