So are you coming she asks
On a scale of one to ten
Margot’s parties are a negative seven.
Dull old people
Talking smack
About other dull old people.
I’ve got to check my calendar I say,
Knowing there is nothing on it.
I can move it to a different night, she offers.
I know why she wants me.
I am dull and old, but I have new stories
No. That’s not it.
I’m dull and old, but I make up new stories.
Buzz.
I’m great at Pictionary, and she always puts me on her team.
Will there be Pictionary? I ask, dreading the reply.
OF COURSE! She says, pleased. Her eyes brighten.
Maybe I could pop in for a bit, I offer.
My soul laughs.
Knowing I will be the first guest there, and the last to leave
as soon as I start winning the prizes.
I never go to the doctor, I never am that ill
But once a year regardless, I go in for my big thrill.
As a bigger breasted woman, a mammogram I must receive
Each and every year and so I've come to believe
It's a punishment for those endowed designed by those who are not.
And in this terrible vise my poor breasts are then caught.
Once they were shapely and perky until this yearly ordeal began.
Now they've changed their shape, like pancakes in a pan.
I'm sure it's not my age that has made them change this way.
Unfortunately this squashed remodel seems to be here to stay.
for Carolyns Dr. Phobia Quick Contest
p.s. I hope it makes you laugh.
Life is not going well this year
So much that is going on
Taking it out on others
Why can't I stop?
Drama is a word to describe it
I'm caught in the middle of reality
I hate regrets but have so many
Gosh just end me out of my misery
Winter casts it's frozen bloom
Humbling to a floret spring
A warm summers moon listens
as the evening birds sing
With a palette of chromatic groom
Fall paints it's earthly shades,
As winter awaits this array
Of colorful fade
Married 26 years on Wednesday
this is indeed a blissful thought
so much time spent together
precious memories can't be bought
Twenty six years it's been
a medal you richly deserves
for putting up with my ways
which must got on your nerves
In our years spent together
united in our one common bond
none could be as happy as we
knit as one so ably fond
Love is our essential key
instilled in us by God above
thankful we are for His blessings
having received His spirit filled love
Thank you for everything
now look forward to next year
April 27 is our date
now hold my hand my dear
(Will have been married to 26years on Wednesaday, so penned this in recognition in thankfulness to my lovely dear wife Christine for all those blessed happy years.)
Molting in falls breeze
Old oak s feathered canopy
Colorful feather leaves

You cannot shift a mower with a motionless stance but a stance is not a stanza nor a stem so never put fifteen flowers, blades of grass, and a sweater together in the washing basket. And a shard a second is a sword that is entrusted to overlordship who's antics please only those that wound, scar and cause misery. It is wise then to put umbrellas over beds for the water will rise up in mass protest and sheer indignation too for the treatment of tailored hands is the testament for tomorrow. And now it is the morning and the verses are sung. Yes sung. Not hung. And a sleepy little blackbird is not in a four foot cage. Ok then. Now to write a thousand word essay on a grain of sand meeting a ten cubic measurement of concrete. Cloves are very very popular at a welcome game of croquet. For the many silver flies enjoy the power of the balls. Fascinating isn't it? That a silver tongued fish with a dramatic energy can sway snakes to a portion of global globules. But a lobe loping is a lecture leech. And a musician making money is magnificent. When all is quiet listen intently for the fall of a dust particle. Landing learning leaving lecherous leftovers. And a single spray from a carnation is a cake calibration in first gear. So heard by all. Wow. Good work for the drivers. And a massive score of an ever circling zero in a swoop dive over the diversity of the oceans waving plastic around. No ha no x no z. Monopodium
Well welcome to NOTHING..............................O
Well here he comes again
Just when I thought I had
The poke and prod behind me
You're aching me up so
And all I really know is here you come again
And Oh I go---
Sung to the tune of Dolly Parton's hit
Here he comes again.

THE YEARLY DOZEN
The slow worry of bright empty January,
Lies here under snow-ridden
Cold-fingered February on a frozen levee,
Endures embattled days with
March’s gales around the gables;
April’s gala fields of daffodils,
And a doubtful vision that may be
Green May’s glory of grass,
With flowering, butterflied June,
Before July’s shimmering mirage
Fills the buzzing song
Of busy August’s hot cities cursed;
While golden September lies all around,
Appled October dozes with baskets heavy,
Stacked in barns by Cinderella
November, maidservant of December -
Silver December dappling all the ground
With dark sparkling glass dash.

Winter casts it's frozen bloom
Humbling to a floret spring
A warm summers moon
Listens?
As the evening bird sings
With a palette of chromatic groom
Fall paints it's earthly shades
Winter awaits,
This array of colorful fade,,,,
Grasslands felt them a week early,
Knew they were coming,
Heard them from many days off.
Not in a hearing way, more of a spiritual knowing.
Grasslands had keen eyes, and strong feelings,
And a magnificent vibration sensation, that felt things way ahead.
She prepared herself for their assault, it came every year.
The air was pregnant with the thought of them
Several hours before they arrived.
The Wildebeests arrived following the gentle
Rain on Tuesday. They began snorting and
Pawing. The assault on Grasslands beginning once again.
fire enjoys the Christmas smells
popping and kicking in a delighted way
mesmerized children come closer, loving her
she feels this admiration but once a year,
smacks her lips and a stream of sparks travel up the fireplace
it's magic! one of the little ones says;
she gets so excited, she feels like burning down the house.
