Baking Soda and Vinegar

elementary science
we watched with wide eyes
baking soda and vinegar
a little red food coloring
emerge from a clay volcano
the foam erupting
moving fast
mixing these catalysts
consequence happened
our lives
like baking soda and vinegar
cause and effect
a mere chemistry experiment
some of us
not well-rounded chemists
make quite a muddle of it
not ever getting the concoction
quite right
i am convinced
some are not born chemists
maybe just decoration
red food coloring

Behind a Vegan Moon

No one likes dead lettuce
It must be crisp and cool
And dousing wounds with vinegar
Is certainly not cruel!

For Vegans can not see
Why lettuce choose to be
On a different frequency
Than Donald Trump might be

A salad will pass away
Shivering with cold today
Disgusted Vegans will say,
"I never heard lettuce pray"

Pallet Delight Packed In Vinegar

Wrote this because my wife and I both love dill pickles and eat one before bedtime most
every night.

Haiku:

Cucumber on vine,
Pack them, process them, spice them
Birth of a pickle.

Here's another version that I like also. Second line was suggested to me by Tim Ryerson so
thank you Tim:

Cucumber on vine,
Plucked and peeled, sliced up and dilled...
Birth of a pickle.

Free Verse:

Cucumber patiently growing on vine
Plucked, processed with Mother Nature's abundant spices.
Viola, birth of a dill pickle, Heaven!

Vinegar

Women,captivating women....
                                   In our eyes like diamond
And honey comb in the mouth,
                                   Only if savored with the
Right motive at the right time.
                                   Outside this,
                                   Women are vinegar....

The Honey and the Vinegar

Once I had the opportunity
For hard-earned, sweet success
But I yawned instead and spurned my chance
To labour and progress

And so my potential festered
Scorned sourly in defeat
Now I am left with vinegar
In place of honey sweet.

A Glass of Vinegar and a Slice of Cake

The
appetite
is
wet,
The
aroma
is
great,
Roses
emitting
a
pleasing
scent,
Tongue
yearning
for
a
taste,
The
mind
becomes
restless
and
quickly
shifts
to
a
bad
state,
Because
the
belly's
vacuum
has
to
be
occupied
in
haste.
A
battle
erupts
within
the
intestines,
Wailings
and
groanings,
Trumpets
and
horns
are
sounding,
Civilians
are
demanding,
Threatening
to
go
on
strike
and
send
the
system
crashing,
But
despite
all
these
efforts,
The
aid
isn't
coming,
Eyes
roll
in
different
directions,
Nothing.
A
meeting
is
called
to
seek
for
a
solution,
The
unions
reach
common
ground
and
resort
to
mass
action,
Shop
begin
closing
in
minor
provinces,
The
capital
has
to
make
a
decision,
Because
the
masses
are
moving
in
slow
motion,
Pending!
Suddenly
good
news
start
pouring
in,
At
last
the
tables
are
set,
There
on
every
tablecloth,
Is
a
glass
of
vinegar
and
a
slice
of
cake.

Piss and Vinegar

Your full of piss and vinegar
My dad used to say
I don't want to smell like pee
To my mother I'd cry my way

Since I wouldn't use the toilet
The pee turned to vinegar over time
This is how my dad potty trained me
It still works on grandchildren of mine

Premium Member Try Vinegar

There is no sweet taste in my mouth,
no milk and honey on my lip.
Tempered by times inhumanity,
the scourge of vinegar's my sip.
I am kind, because I bleed
for every race, color and creed.
I have been crucified by tongues fluidity,
yet kindness is not returned to me.
Is the any mention of milk and honey
ever
dripping from the mouth of Jesus?

Premium Member She Washes Her Hair With Beer, Vinegar and Egg

It's not a crack to the skull
But the yolk is prepared in a bowl
It is diluted with water

It's not a pint over the head
But the beer from a bottle
It is diluted with water

It's not fish n chips on the scalp
But the vinegar from a cruet
It is diluted with water

These are all genuine ways to
Hose down that shock of and
That riotous abundance of
Curtain-like congestion
Rainbow
Long
Drawn
Out
I love you

This song is for my father,
The biological fallible author,
working to clear a path.

In this maze of a world,
filled with isms and societal twirls
You warned me of the aftermath after the math.

The few times you visited no matter the weather,
Eating vinegar & salt potato chips together,
Before you continued your odyssey.

The simplicity of our relationship,
Based on sodium chloride fermented chips,
Will always be the base of my modesty.

Vinegar Dressed Up As a Beaujolais

People are aspired to be desired, so they erase.
People aspire to their 20's, so they erase.
People are deluded for immortality, embalming themself as they still draw breath.

People erase their facial expressions.
Frozen expression.internal neglection.
Shiny gift wrap with a big void inside.

People are changing their skin.
Like an advertisement for their character, boost for the charisma.
Like an eternal testimony for failures and wrong choices.

People are running from time.
Running to an illusion at another life.
Life of eternal youth, endless beauty, to be wanted, needed, desired.

Your waxy face belongs to a droid, your heart made of plastic.
You are easy to shape as per society's wishes.
You send your poker face to play for life with an empty hand.

Ease with this self-passion, you are a vinegar dressed up as a Beaujolais.

Vinegar Part One

a metaphor; imagine the sea is a representation of you, of your life
in this personification, the waves are representative of pain, of our strife
avoid the turbulence above, a place so close, so different, a place so frenetic
towards the chaos, the calamity of the waves on the surface , remain apathetic
there is no need for the negative emotions, all they are; unwanted commotion
let them be calved from us like icebergs from the glaciers, doomed to wander the ocean
ebbing and flowing, melting slowly, growing more miniscule with every passing day
until they can't hang on, until they've all gone, until the last one has faded away
on these thoughts of sorrow, these thoughts of hatred, you must never, ever bide
just relax, just breathe, just give my way a try, the icebergs, they will be cast aside
I say this genuinely and true, I mean every word I say, each one from my own heart
my intentions are pure, a plan to bring peace. it's simple, this knowledge on you I impart;

in the quest for decencey, for compassion, to be remembered as a remarkable man
don't follow a misread book, a profiteering man, don't follow someone else's master plan
for the motivation should not lie in a fear of hell below nor a promise of heaven above
no, the inspiration for our causation comes from deep within the sea, within us, it's love.

Vinegar Part Two

a love for your fellow human being, simply show compassion for your brother,
this is what the world needs; to be working towards an understanding of one another
but we're too busy fighting, much like the squid and the whale, til death, entwined
their way of life, the tentacles, both are binding, is that what you want? a life so confined?
don't follow their lead, don't live with their hate, it's control of your thoughts they seek
I ask you to resemble the sea; I beg you, be gracious, I plead, you must never be meek.
let this be the salt in your water, salinity is serenity, into every inch of you, let it spread
I ask you to keep a promise, I request of you, please, make these words your daily bread
We'll right the wrongs, clear our hearts of the taint, the weight of hate, we'll make amends
we'll stick together, we'll have our ups, our downs, but together we'll weather the bends
a life less virulent, a cure for your jellyfish sting, the vinegar, these words, a gift I give to you
these words, they will remedy us all, these are the truths, the truths that I pursue;

face your life with an open mind and face it with a love that's barrier transcending
face you life with open arms and face your life with a kindness that's unbending
face your life with an open heart and face it with a happiness that's never-ending
for the tide has come, to wash this all away, and it's time to start defending

Vinegar Love

Vinegar Love

Your love is like vinegar.
It's bitter to my tongue,
It burns my heart,
And it pickles my soul.

Your promises are as empty
To me as my bank account
Was when you were
Finished with me.

To think that I believed
That you could spend your
Life sharing good times with me,
Feeling happy and secure.

That is just as crazy as
Believing that you could
Spin a mountain of manure
Into a ship filled with gold.

My ability to trust
Has been depleted,
Since all of my hopes
And dreams of building
A family with you
Have been defeated.

Thank God your sperm
Never took me to carry
A baby full-term.

Raising spawn from
You would be like
Learning to live my
Life with my brain
Full of worms.

Your head is so huge
So bald
And so ugly.

The view makes me
Laugh and
Smile so smugly.

Let's see who you
Find to take my place.

Poor girl,
After awhile
She will have no
Smile on her face.

For smiles,
You and your
Wretched family
Will surely erase.

So let me move on
As quickly as I can,
Only then
I might finally
Have a chance to
Meet a real man.

Goodbye my love.
It was you,
Who I cherished
For so many years.

No longer
Will I wait
Patiently for my
Life to appear.

Now my life
Will take off,
My dreams shall
Take place,
And my tears
Will dry up
Like your Mom's
Ugly face.
