STARRY, STARRY NIGHT
I often look up towards the sky at night,
And wonder who or what is there,
I shout out loud, if you see or hear me, I love you,
I do this every night, the starry sky, an absolute delight!
I drive out of the city to the Kruger Park,
There, not only am I close to nature and serenity,
But to the universe, I look up, no pollution,
I stretch my arms up high, excited, it is very dark!
No street lights, or cars headlights, or any noise,
The moon is so bright and full, it smiles at me,
Quite rare, for normally the moon looks a little sullen,
The stars, I’ve lost count, as they twinkle with such poise!
The Milky Way so clear, I feel I want to reach up high,
As it allures me, and weaves across the sky,
Milky, so graceful and silent, as it, and I watch
Sparkling stars, and planets rotating, unknown
To mankind, yet to be discovered in our eternal
Galaxy to which I want to fly!
Our universe has constellations of stars, named mostly
After mythology’s gods, who beckon, tempt and wink
And entice me, but I am on planet earth, how near
Could I reach this flamboyant display, body, soul
And mind, holistically!
So maybe if I look up into our never ending
Sky at night,
And wish upon one star, with imagination
That runs rampant,
I will see above and far beyond with breathless anticipation,
What I could never imagine, an explosion that blinds me,
An aura, translucently bright!
~FInding Your Earth Angel~
My fondest wish,
Is that you meet one,
quite soon!
They are sent by God,
not the man in the moon!
May time and rushing tides,
bring one to you, more than
soon!
They speak with tongues of
angels,and your soul rests,
beneath a soothing moon.
They never tell you, that you
are a sinner, gone wrong.
They speak so softly, with very
soft supportive songs!
Those negative among you,
will scoff and say, there is no
such being.
However, I do have two, not
only living, but remind me to
laugh, that time is fleeting,
An earth angel gives your heart,
gossamer wings!
You rise above very dark clouds,
no lost meanderings.
Thank you,God as my soul no
longer roams.
One day,my earth angels and I,
will stand smiling, next to
God's eternal throne!

Dedicated..to my Earth Angels!
Whether you are a king or a beggar
we know that everyone will die
Even when it looks dark ... very dark
and the flames have gone out
Your visions are blurred
Life is an uncertain project
To deceive death ... just a little
Legends say ... cats have nine lives
Is it possible for us modern people
to become friends, with death?
You never know
"Time to live - time to die"
... and the nightingale sang so beautifully -
both the king and the beggar
got tears in their eyes

I was walking home one cold winter's night
On a country lane that was very dark
Odd feeling I had something wasn't right
Then behind me heard a growl and a bark.
I turned around but nothing could I see
T'was the midnight hour no one was about
My mind I thought is playing tricks on me
Then I heard it, a loud scream and a shout.
I froze on the spot overcome with fear
Thought I'd keel over from a heart attack
Loud shouting again it was getting near
I started running and didn't look back.
Then before me a dog with eyes bright red
I woke and vowed no more cheese before bed.

There they come,
I see them from my window
Although it's very dark
The streets lights make them glow
I closed and locked each shutter
As it seems like I’m in Limbo
While anxious for the sun to rise,
I feel the panic grow
They're coming here tonight
And fear runs through my bones
Although I've turned off all the lights
They know that we are home
They want and come to feast
To strip us to the bone
And eat our flesh and brains and blood.
So close, I hear their groans
With my children huddled 'round me
As I hold my darling bride
I pray to God for all I'm worth
They cannot get inside
Now I hear them on the front porch
And it, can't be denied
Once they're in the front door
There’ll be no place to hide
But my wife broke free, from me
And headed to the door
In all these years I've never seen
My wife so brave before
I stretched my arm out to her
"Don't open" I implored
Then twenty costumed kids rushed in
Just like the year before
Meant To Be, Therefore Will Forever Last
Heaven was her first soft, passionate kiss
Begging, beg I for more, far more of this
Night's splendor, in her silk covered bed
Treasure, promise that one day we would wed
Live out our lives, loving our Fated trek
Without her this poor soul would be a wreck.
Heaven was her laugh, her beaming bright smile
Her perfume, her traveling in grand style
Her pretty tanned face, those sexy legs
Such rare beauty would make any man beg
Blessing that we were matched as a pair
Destined to our married lives share.
Heaven was her asking me on a date
Some say mere chance, I call it Hand of Fate
In life we are blessed, oft know not why
Love comes as a gift from Heavenly sky
I believe our love was Heavenly cast
Meant to be, therefore will forever last.
Heaven sent me a sweet angel divine.
Our lives blessed and as romance defines.

Note:
Seeking to end this year on a high note
I decided to compose a new poem about
The dear blessing, the true love of my life
I know this very dark and tragically sad year,
Has brought from me many dark poems-
Yet this last poem of this depressive year
Shall be one of hope, blessing, romance,
family and a gift that was most assuredly
Heaven sent. My darling beautiful wife,
and our blessed Family. My blessing of
Being a poet and having the honor to
Gift words unto this world, with the hope
That such helps others and may inspire
New, young writers to venture forth, write
And thus give of heart and soul to benefit
others. If so- my time spent was not in vain.
We are all essentially African. That's where humanity first took birth.
Some then left Africa to populate every land mass on planet earth.
Those of us who remained in equatorial Africa kept our very dark protective skin.
It served as a natural sun block,
preventing harmful ultra violet rays from contaminating our bodies from within.
As we migrated closer to the poles we began to slowly depigmentize.
It was an evolutionary trade off, one might call evolutionarily wise.
The rays of the sun when closer to the poles
are not as harsh as in sub tropical Africa and the pole's climate is cold.
Where as in Africa we walked naked with our protective dark skin,
The poles were colder. We wore clothing over our slowly depigmentizing skin.
Depigmentizing all the quicker because of very little exposure to the sun at all.
Because we differ in skin color doesn't mean anything good or bad at all.
We were and still are all the same human specie, unlike our cousins, the extinct Neanderthal.
We are all *****sapiens. We are all the one and only Human Race.
In a nutshell, that says it all.
To All Hate Groups Out There and hate individuals too.
Be forewarned. Be aware. Your over due extinction is about to come true.
I speak for all with knowledge who have truly evolved too,
"We All Welcome The Extinction Of All The Ignorance Created By All Of You."
You should all welcome it too, so that all of you can truly, for the common good,
intellectually evolve too.
Drunk and hung over
I began making this awkward ride
I began to make conversation and joke
About how drunk I was the past night
But a smile was not present
Nor a little grin on that side
I suddenly began to wonder
If everything was alright
So we continued
Continued this awkward drive
My attention began to turn
From the car, too the outside
The outside was very dark
Clouds surrounded the sky
It seemed everything had stopped
It seemed everything had died
But at the end of our drive
My grandmothers we would arrive
To see with my own eyes
My whole family standing outside
As we get out of the car
I put on a disguised smile
For I was still hung over
Got out and said “Hi”
My three uncles walked up to me
With a tear in each one’s eye
They put there arms all around me
And stuttered “Lee died last night”
So I pushed and I shoved
Uncontrollably began to cry
The only thing I could think of
Was the one to blame was I
I began to look for my father
To make sure he was alright
I noticed him by the old Sycamore tree
Staring up into the sky
As I started walking toward him
I noticed a car parked that was white
My mother jumped out and ran toward me
into my arms she cried" Why!!!"
The only thing I could do was hold her
With my arms I held so tight
She said "why did this happen"
"It just doesn’t seem right"
As I broke away from my mother
And walked over to my dad
There he stood crying
With a look on his face that was sad
It looked as if something had left him
Like a little piece of his heart
Now every time I see him
My crying begins to start
I said “Dad remember the good times"
“Remember he's still your son”
He said" yea I know Cody Bo
But the good they die young
The good die young son"
The Four Walls of Darkness
Darkness envelopes the reaching hand in front of me, it is gone as I am gone,
Captured, barricaded, tortured day and night within these four evil walls...
My Hell, this 10x10 room without a view, with nothing to do but wait, and wait again,
Waiting for sanity to lose it's grip, waiting for reality to slip, wait, and wait again...
The only comfort for me are these four walls I can't see, in darkness surrounding me,
Haunting me, taunting me , Laughing at me, my only company, four walls of bad company...
It's so very dark here, I must be dying, finally, I can't seem to feel anything, nothing,
like there are no walls in front of me, but where did my prison go, suddenly...bright light!!
Eyes opening to a different room, steel walls, antiseptic odor covering, something,
four new shiny walls surrounding me, but still torturing, all around me dead bodies...
Visiting the morgue before they bury me inside the four walls of my
casket...Bastards!!!

I went out, when it was very dark
To search the area for any toad
And there it was sitting there like a child in a park
Oblivious to the terrible cold
I must have seemed like a shark
As it slept, when suddenly I pounced
B;
I kept it for just a day
But I know forever in my heart it will stay
Now because of me, no more will it play
In my own defense I have nothing to say
Because I know on all accounts
I am so very guilty
Of that beautiful toads death
C:
I sat there by myself, in peace as I am known
Behind a rock, I now know as my own
Then suddenly I found myself captured
I could see the outside world but my movements restricted
For such a long while I was thus encumbered
It was such a sorry day and I was so scared
Then suddenly I felt a blow, terrible pain
Blackness
The human was guilty!
He was standing there alone on the bridge
He must have been about twelve years old.
I asked, "What are you doing here, lad?
It's very dark and kind of cold."
"I'm not supposed to be out this late at night
But my mom and dad are having a fight
So I'm on this bridge and I don't know why
Seems like all I do anymore is cry.
You don't know what it's like
To hear the shouting every day
I love my mom and dad
But they say things they shouldn't say
I have a sister and a little brother
And we are only learning how to hurt each other.
If I was granted any wish that I could think of
All I would want is a home filled with love
Maybe my mom and dad could find it in their heart
To forgive each other and make a brand new start
Then our lives would be like they should be
And I could dump these feelings that are haunting me
Thanks, mister for listening to me talk
Can you give me a ride home. I'm afraid to walk
If you hadn't stopped, I wouldn't have seen daylight
You see, I was going to jump off that bridge tonight."
Sometimes a kind word or just listening for a few moments can make a
difference in someone's life.
Your Indigo Ink, Yes, You
“Great spirits have always encountered
opposition from medicore minds”
Albert Einstein
Your very best poems are about truth, goodness or
beauty!
Yet, ignored, over something... not only ghastly base,
but something mindlessly fruity.
Do not fret if they are ignored, move on and close
the door.
If you are here to be loved and very popular, it
shows in your poetry, which is mostly jocular.
Let others write exactly as they choose.
Get up, read a poet you like, by wearing your
poetic soul shoes.
Why keep reading, only those at the top?
There are thousands rarely read, they are humans
after all, not floor mops!
Ah, those photos on that homepage are so very
deceiving!
Poses of love and great beauty, and then come
their vicious comments~ indeed a very, dark soul
revealing.
Never mind mean cracks at your poems!
These are unloving poets staring at their
contorted faux image.
Under their own cruel mind-domes!
Best we learn from one another.
Than to do all in our power, a good poet’s writ,
to ignore and smother.
Tell me, how great you must feel, when you turn
off your night light.
When some here really do choose to
make of another, a joke and a blight?
Better to support than do all in your power to
smother one another.
Than to prance about here, pretending others are
not your equals or poetry brothers.
Jealousy here? A purely teenage emotion!
It destroys friendships here, and creates a painful
commotion.
I cannot use his name, it would not be right,
But his humor is impressive, classical and a most
appreciated delight.

The poem below mirrors the tribute featured in the video (click the YouTube tab above to view). It was created by a dear friend — a poet, musician, and video artist — who walked through a very dark time and, through grace, found his way back.
The video is more than just a song — it’s a story of survival and soul. I encourage you to watch it all the way to the end and, if you feel moved, explore the YouTube comments — you may even recognize a few voices from this very community.

Divine Intervention
Not just words sent soaring to the sky
it’s a linking bridge between a soul’s quiet cry.
Resounding to places we are yet to see,
Carrying courage where it’s needed to be.
Affirmations don’t require ego’s exactness,
Whispered, or spoken aloud in respected reverence
Only love can break barriers to enter with grace,
On a sacred thread through the Cosmic Space
It shifts something deep within this spirit of mine.
It doesn't twist fate or dim the light that shines
‘Cause Intervention intercedes guiding The Sign
Inducing sense of purpose in The Grand Design
A bright sunny day
With some puffy clouds
They had images of faces
The temperature high
No birds in the sky
The squirrels were hiding
No one is outside
They were inside
With air conditioning
Having a co, drink
Just relaxing in the
cool air
Reading or answering mail
All of a sudden the sky
Is very dark the sun left
Grey color clouds appear
Getting darker even more
So dark the sky is black
The rain poured down quickly
The ground got soaked
It rained for several hours
Getting darker even more
So dark the sky is black
The rain poured down quickly
The ground got soaked
It rained for several hours
Then quickly as it began
The rain slowed down
The dark clouds cleared
In the sky sunshine appeared
The squirrels came out
Looking for food
The birds looking for worms
The grass looked brighter
Flowers taller and grass greener
Life fading before your very eyes
So many false promises and far too many lies
Laying beside He who stands
Questioning answers and making demands.
Your meandering soul so very dark
The light slightly seen by that single spark
Crouched below the turbulent tide
With He who stands by your side.
Moonbeams and those blessed dreams
And the places only you have seen
Crawling at the feet of He who stands
Roses, their thorns and blood on your hands.
The majestic meaning of your thoughts
Your demon challenged and iron wrought
Placed as if a speck of discarded sand
All of this for the one who stands.
