Best Vagrant Poems
The Vagrant
He stumbles on the subway
Initially I cringe
I'm put off by the way he smells
From alcoholic binge
He mumbles incoherent
I start to feel ashamed
I slide my hand in my front pocket
Fumbling for some change
But I don't think he's asking
And now I feel confused
Why suddenly he's deathly still
In contemplative muse
It's then I sensed my pity
That's founded in this...

Vagrant Promises
Per chance, Madame, you will be kind
Please, can you spare me, but a pence?
I wish to eat and, too, I thirst.
I must now pay my rent.
Per chance, dear sir, you will be kind
Please, can you spare me, but a shilling?
I promise not to drink it down
Nor, at the track, a killing.
Can someone please assist...

Death of a Vagrant
Death of a Vagrant
I am your mother, hold out your hand
Trace the lines of fate, tragic, pre-planned
You’re exhausted and empty, tired and cold
Fingers yellow with smoke, clothes smell of mould,
Frail body so white, with face so tanned
Begging for scraps, the life of the damned
You do not judge, but are cruelly measured
Your memories of her, still...

Praise From a Wealthy Vagrant
To all who thought they had it all.
It is not so much that You saw my need, but, rather, You showed my need to me, then filled it. I stood in riches, yet You created in me a hunger that only You could feed. You reached out for a wretch, foundering in ignorant luxury, never...

Vagrant Muse
Return to me O vagrant Muse,
Inspire my thoughts and don't refuse.
Where is my poet's inspiration ?
I've lost that bright imagination.
No couplet, ode, nor sonnet – gone
My creative spark that drives me on.
Ideas, invention sadly lacking,
No metaphors, I must be slacking.
Did Keats and Wordsworth suffer thus ?
Maybe I'm making too much fuss.
A sea of white, the...

Vagrant
Like the fog
She melts
Into the wilderness
Never to come
Back.
Like the snow
She drifts,
Crossing horizons
Settles at
Home.
Like the storm
She floods,
All that is inside,
Comes pouring
Out.
Like the grass
She stays,
Stops,
Looks and
Wanders off....

Vagrant
Vagrant thoughts
Hang about the corners
Of my mind
Idly tormenting each other
Daring
At least one
To take hold
Take shape
Cast a shadow
On the unknown.

Hungry Vagrant~
My tummy growls an empty swirl
Hunger stews inside my tummy
Weak from a lack of nutrients
My heavy head seeks rest
With frailty ......I search incessantly
Whence comes my next meal?
The question lingers with vigor
I ache for something to devour
Indulging the smell of restaurants
Walking slowly past…..wondering ….
Could I eat an empty table’s leftovers?
Not having enough...

Vagrant Thoughts
During day, mind is clogged
By a thousand thoughts
A pot of marbles upturned
On attempting to sweep them together
They slip and slither
Running this way and that way
At night, after their vagrant wanderings
They come back to roost
......................... if not insomniac!...

Sanctuary of Vagrant Hearts
The waves are restless in their testimony...
a Winslow Homer portrait of shifting shapes and size.
So utterly rhythmic and mighty in their ceremony
as they swallow the golden shore then form to rise.
The indigo-green waters emerge
into a song of pulsating rapture,
as the afternoon sun filtered through towering spires.
With each cascade of depth and shallow
I resolve to be...

The Vagrant
There’s a man who sleeps in the cold at night
on the bench down by the lake in the park.
His pillow, a bag he carries, of the bits he owns
just his jacket, to keep him warm in the dark.
Who was he, before he fell into this way...

The Vagrant
A wanderer, I stray.
To hills and valleys, far away.
Closed doors and gate, my fate.
No ID or certificate.
A vagrant is an unwanted guest.
To prison send the pest.
In the next town you'll find work
Do they take me for a jerk!
Home and wife, lost at the dice.
Through ignorance, I paid the price.
Is there a place I can show...

Vagrant Lover :
Vagrant lover:
You were my first my last. There shall never be another you.You are a lifetime you are my life.
We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.
You are a crazy vagrant lover.
My heart is crazy in your love.
I have recognized as to who you...

Greyhound - La To Ny
Taxied to the terminal. The fare paid,
vagrants begged for alms, some too drunk to care.
Shrunken faces, weather beaten, they played
a sad tune of which I was unaware.
Some had the means, even possessed the fare
to transport them to towns with better care.
I passed the huddled poor, stepped on the bus,
took my seat at a window facing...
