Best Uts Poems
Today’s the day.
Our training is to be put on display.
Upon each is a test of the heart.
Guts to do it all from the start.
Here we go over the first wall, sublime.
Men and Women at the line.
Utter the words “HOO RAH” in time.
Determined to finish the challenge ahead.
Defined by how they react to others in dread.
Each of us who finish the course and stand.
Reach a new respect for those who sport the orange headband.

There was a little girl
barely more than three.
She went for a ride
to the country one Sunday
with her family.
She laughed and laughed
with glee
at all the animals
that she could see.
Then she spotted
something that before
She had not seen.
Now from the back seat
came the cry
UTS DAT MOMMIE !!
UTS DAT !
There in the field was
a tractor and a wagon.
Her mother told her what
it was and all fell quiet.
Being that it was about nap time
and she was quiet for so long
they thought her asleep.
Suddenly
a cry rang out
from the back seat.
aaahh !!! A Twagon !

Prose Poetry
The pause between Summer and Winter
Harvest time, pumpkins, apple pies and corn
Enchanting scenes of stained glass foliage
Magnificent fiery colors of soft yellow, orange and red
Autumn is like a melancholy song
Gusty winds and golden leaves flying
Inspirational is the beautiful decay everywhere
Chilly nights, cozy sweaters, long country drives
Orange blanket stretching in all directions
Falling leaves dance, spin and twirl
Apple cider after a long walk
Unpredictable rain
The season of a long goodbye
Until the snow paints nature white
Maple trees red against the sky take my breath away
Nuts for the scampering squirrels- make me laugh

So, I'm listening to the radio
on the way down the road.
To a "local color" piece
about a some cowboys out west
and they're interviewing this
one cowboy,
"What's it like out here?"
and he responds "Well, we're
just rounding up some cattle
out here, bringin' 'em in and
cuttin' their n(bleep)uts off".
For a split second I wonder,
then I realize, they've bleeped
out "nuts"...cows nuts obviously
an offensive term to burger
loving *****sapiens who might
be listening over the air.
I think, "hmmm, ok so
this is news normalcy, where
bovine killers are offended
to hear of cuttin' off cow nuts.
Yet yesterday when I was listening
and they spoke of gang wars
down south, and how teachers
were being threatened,
and how yesterday, six severed
heads were found in front of
a local elementary school,
but authorities were not sure
if the grisly discovery
was gang related or not.
So, normalcy is when
people's decapitations
for power control of gang
turf is not bleepable
to my sensibilities, but
cow castrations are.
Now I feel normal.
What the (bleep)!
